Beautiful looking beer, golden amber coloured body, crystal clear condition. Lovely in everyway. This was cheeky rate for SilkT and I. Many thanks to our man Tony, from Louisiana, who recommended this treat.

Cloudy amber - brown beer. Semi dry palate. Strong malt with light toffee caramel streaks. A little fruit slips past the dominant malt in the mid. Finishes soft with mild alcoholic warmth.

AROMA: bread, toast, raisin, applejuice? APPEARANCE: amber, hazy, frothy TASTE: medium sweetness, lightly bitter, PALATE: medium body, sticky, soft carbonation, abrupt finish OVERALL: drinkable, but too thin a palate and lacks any finish, so no retry.

Bottle. Deep ruby brown with a diminishing off-white head. Sweet malty nose. More fruity malt on the flavour. Light bitterness. Not a dramatic flavour. I feel I drank it too cold. Would benefit from being warmer I think.

Cask at the NWAF, Manchester, 2012. Golden/amber pour with a white head. Not much nose, barley? A bit of fruit in the flavour, not much else. Ho hum.

Clear brown color with fine brown head that gives lacings. Fruiti aroma. Sweet dark fruit flavor. However, little homebrew taste.

Very strange beer, should it be like this? Acidic and smoky and slightly sweet malty with alcohol tones. Everything merged into a not functioning soup.

50cl bottle thanks to Lewis. Pours a hazy amber with a thin white head. The nose has oranges, a some malt. The taste has raisins and cake mixture. The palate has a fairly big structure with a big middle section and a long finish. Overall, this grew on me. It’s pretty big, but still quite a good finish for a strong beer.

[cask at SRAF’11] Pours nut brown with a short-lived head. Sweet, boozy aroma – plenty of alcohol on the nose alongside toffee and banana. Fruity on the palate at first – more banana and berry fruit, then the alcohol arrives and battles away. Finish is rich and sweet, but thankfully not too cloying [16062011]

Cask at SRAF ’11. Champion beer of Scotland apparently. Hmmm. Amber pour with a watery head. Caramel and stewed fruit on the nose. Pretty distinctive taste, with fruit candy, banana, some sort of caramel. Masks the alcohol very well, but only through sheer sweetness. Unique in its way, though.
