4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: DEC 17, 2013 Cask, very fresh at the Castle Tavern in Inverness.
Light yellow orange sparkle with starts malt forward and has a very smooth silk body. Soft tender fluffy head but not overly thick leaving an intricate patten of lacing.
Slight bitterness which marries beautifully with the toffee-ish maltiness which leads to a long complex gentle lingering bitterness. Firm.
Beautiful. The difference between the cask and bottle version is staggering.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Notes from trip to Scotland summer 2014. Bottle. Pours amber-gold with a big frothy head settling to a nice rim on top of the beer. The aroma is fuity and yeasty, with a malt backbeat. The taste is malty and grainy, with some spice coming through in the second wave, followed by a long bitter aftertaste. Not a bad a beer at all, but rather full in the mouth and thus quite filling.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Blonde ale from the Isle of Skye brewed with oats. Firm and creamy, yellowish white head, colour warm orange blonde, calm sparkling, lightly misty. Subtle and rather delicate aroma of lemon, cheese, toasted bread, oatmeal porridge, cream, walnuts and grassy hops. Rounded fruitiness in the mouth, fresh citrus touch, spicy hoppiness with a tonic water-like quality too it without becoming harsh, long finish. Enjoyable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle version. Pours dark golden straw color with small white head. Light grassy malt aroma. Flavor and palate are creamy and oaty. When served at the correct temp (I.e., not too cold) it's like a golden stout. Easy to drink ESB.
