3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 zimbo (332) - - JAN 20, 2013Cask, very fresh at the CAstle Tavern in Inverness.
Light yellow orange sparkle with starts malt forward and has a very smooth silk body. Soft tender fluffy head but not overly thick leaving an intricate patten of lacing.
Slight bitterness which marries beautifully with the toffee-ish maltiness which leads to a long complex gentle lingering bitterness. Firm.
Beautiful. The difference between the cask and bottle version is staggering.

.5l bottle brought back from the islands by my mate, and new RB friend, BalkanMac. Medium sweet gold body, distinctive ale sweetness (and warmth). Pretty deep orange and white head. Caramel, banana, weak water aroma. Very tasty and tartly drinkable. The oats are a dominate flavor for a lighter abv beer. Unique flavor notes throughout. Good roast malt before clean watery body. OK Beer.

Bit sweet. This is ok. I can’t shake my asthma and my cough is pretty nasty. I’m tired.

Bottle at Ardvasar hotel on Skye. Pretty fresh then! Beautiful clear golden pour, thin bubbly white head with light lacing. Light cereal malts, soft lemon zest on the nose. Lager grains, soft fruits, light bitterness, good mouthfeel. On its own, pretty mediocre. But fresh, local, after a walk through the moors, very very tasty indeed.

Bottle. Pours deep golden with a white head. A bit bland and anonymous. Quite light body. Fruity and malty with a light bitterness. Ok, but quite forgettable. (Backlog: Tasted at Øl & Mat ’09)

0.5L bottle. Rich golden pour, good aroma and lacing. A spunky lager-y ale, easy to drink, nice and hoppy. One of the best "bitters" I’ve had, really good.
