UPDATED: DEC 17, 2013 Cask, very fresh at the Castle Tavern in Inverness. Light yellow orange sparkle with starts malt forward and has a very smooth silk body. Soft tender fluffy head but not overly thick leaving an intricate patten of lacing. Slight bitterness which marries beautifully with the toffee-ish maltiness which leads to a long complex gentle lingering bitterness. Firm. Beautiful. The difference between the cask and bottle version is staggering.

Pint in the Chlachain in Mallaig. Deep golden colour. Quite light consistency. Not much head.

Cask at local pub in lovely village of Plockton nr Skye. Amber looks with a small white head. Gentle malt and hop notes in the nose. Flavour was similar with some notes of yeast and grain. Fairly reserved bitterness. Drinkable and seemed fresh but on the whole unspectacular. Didnít really pick up on the Porridge factor !

Bottle. Bit of a floral aroma, watery and tangy taste. Nothing especially interesting about it.

500ml bottle. Floral aroma with honey sweetness. Flavour is a little biscuity. Pretty average.

Bottle. Nose is cereal, slight straw, worrying hint of egg. Taste, cereal, banana and an unpleasant sweetness I canít place. No finish. Mouthfeel is thin. A nothing beer which is best avoided.

Bottle @ the Claymore Restaurant, Broadford, Isle of Skye. Pours golden, with a decent head. The nose has lemon and pale malt. The taste has more of the same, also some honey. The palate is light to medium bodied and very refreshing. Overall a very good session beer, if nothing special beyond that.

On cask at Congress, Longton. Pours golden amber. Toffee nose, hop balance. Very nice gold.

.5l bottle brought back from the islands by my mate, and new RB friend, BalkanMac. Medium sweet gold body, distinctive ale sweetness (and warmth). Pretty deep orange and white head. Caramel, banana, weak water aroma. Very tasty and tartly drinkable. The oats are a dominate flavor for a lighter abv beer. Unique flavor notes throughout. Good roast malt before clean watery body. OK Beer.
