UPDATED: JAN 25, 2010 Bottle at YNWA, Kolding. Pours a nice clear, reddish copper body with a lovely beige head. Bready nose with caramel and a touch of hops. Sure on the malty side in the flavor too, wouldn’t expect anything else either, with caramel, a little roasted maltyness and a fruityness in the background. Medium to full body. A pleasant, malty, easy drinkable beer that would be well suited for a session, but maybe even better with a stew or something. Rating: 5-4-6-4-11-3. 080229

Bottle. It’s a clear, golden beer with a small, off-white head. Some sourish notes in the aroma, toffee dominating. Caramel and fruits in the mouth, some bitterness towards the end. Medium body. A rather boring beer, but very drinkable. 091016.

Bottle 50cl @ednburgh, aroma is dry malty with a smoked nose and body, easy drinkable, light caramel notes less hopy.

Cask by handpump at Oxford Bar, Edinburgh (27 Mar 12) - clear copper ale, creamy off-white head, fruity hop aroma, good temperature, sweet, fruity, caramel / toffee, smooth, bitter aftertaste

500ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a frothy white head that settles quite quickly leaving some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is light toasted caramel malts and some hops. Taste is light fruity and malty sweetness with a moderate hoppy bitterness. Light to medium body and moderate carbonation. A decent English bitter.

I drank this beer a while ago. I’ll update this ratin if I have the chance to drink it again.

First tasted this in Coanes, Johnstone in February 1996. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale garnet in colour with a thick creamy off white head. Spicy malt present in the short nose. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a rich, robust digestive tea biscuit flavour with fiery, peppery notes and later some overipe bramble fruit. Dusty hop resins give a slightly dry aftertaste which compliments the malt well enough to work. Finish is dry with vinous redcurrant fruit and oak cask notes coming through. Typical Scottish export style and well recommended.

Pours a dark amber with a white head. Hints of hop in the nose. Some chocolate and malts in the flavour. Not the best pint I’ve had.

Taste - Fruity malts...some sweetness...slight grapey...odd flavour..not much hop presence...bit of apple.....overall not good
Palate - soft carb..thin body. Finish - dull...rapid...slightly sour...bit of bitterness
Overall - A poor bitter....way below average...best aspect of this beer is its appearance

Cask at nobles. Amber with decry off white head. Metallic milk chocolate aroma. Tiny chocolate taste with some bad hops, caramel. Watery and bland. Bog standard typical British cask conditioned bitter.

[500ml bottle] Clear ruby pour, thin white head. Not much carbonation in evidence. Classic Fuggles aroma on the nose - slightly musty, sweet fruity malt. Caramel flavours, sweet yeasty notes, thin dry finish [17112011]
