3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On cask at the Standing Order.
Appearance - amber and a touch murky. Nice head.
Nose - malt and raisins. A bit tangy too. Like bread and butter pudding.
Taste - more of the same really. But a bit fresher.
Palate - light to medium bodied with a nice rich creaminess in the middle.
Overall - this is a bitter not a golden ale. However very balanced and drinkable.

Cask by hand-pump at Callum’s Bar, Johnstone (4% abv on the pump-clip) - clear golden, thin creamy off-white head, weak malty aroma, excellent film of fine lacing, malty, grain, a bit lacking in hops

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in 9th January 2014. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale straw in colour with a thick creamy white head. Malt in the short aroma with buttery shortbread noted. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a sweet fruity base of honeydew melon with none of the expected tart citrus fruit detected. Dilute hop resins impart a light floral bitter note to the short aftertaste. Finish is sweet and malty with hints of heather honey and apple crumble flavours. A decent session Golden Ale and worth seeking out.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Slightly hazy bronze. The aroma has slight biscuity nuttiness. Toasty, with lightly fruity (apple) notes. Ok beer, but seems to lack focus.

Cask @ Halfway House. Not too sparkled. Clear gold with stable head. Aroma is fresh pale malts plus husks. Clean juicy palate. Nicely husky with juicy sweetness in the middle, and some acidity in the finish as well. Good.
