Terminus (1955), Illinois, USA Apr 10, 2004 tap at brewery-sour apple/carmel aroma-slightly yeasty. dark copper hue with no head. Ok, but could use more punch all around. MrRomero (1874), Wiesbaden-Biebrich, Germany Apr 10, 2004 Pours clear amber with a thin head. Mild barleywine aroma. Light caramel flavors and an alcohol afterbite. Pretty nice but could use more body. whaleman (2168), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 22, 2004 Updated: Jan 24, 2004Deep caramel color. Nice balanced aroma with decent hop presence. Interesting flavor of caramel candy, honey, butterscotch, coconut, wood, and smoke (a novel quality in a barley wine). Sweet, hoppy and good. Big chewy body. Could do with less sweetness, but doesn't strike me as poorly attenuated. Just needs some shelf time.
