Isotope Barley Wine

tap at brewery-sour apple/carmel aroma-slightly yeasty. dark copper hue with no head. Ok, but could use more punch all around.

Pours clear amber with a thin head. Mild barleywine aroma. Light caramel flavors and an alcohol afterbite. Pretty nice but could use more body.

Deep caramel color. Nice balanced aroma with decent hop presence. Interesting flavor of caramel candy, honey, butterscotch, coconut, wood, and smoke (a novel quality in a barley wine). Sweet, hoppy and good. Big chewy body. Could do with less sweetness, but doesn't strike me as poorly attenuated. Just needs some shelf time.
