On tap at FoBAB. Poured deep brown with a creamy cap of tan head. The aroma picked up sweeter roasted black malts and chocolate with a touch of vanilla and very faint cherries.. sweet and not technically good, but it worked for me. The flavor was sweet and kinda syrupy with black malts that did not really impart any specific character.. vanilla and bourbon gave a sweet impression on the edges.. warm finish.. almost completely devoid of the promised cherries. Medium-bodied and warm on the palate with a bit of a grainy feel.. OK overall.

FoBAB 2008. Poured an opaque black color with a khaki head. Not much aroma other than some light booze, minimal smoke, and soda crackers. Full bodied and slightly sweet with a hint of fruit flavor accompanied by even less booze and smoke. Eh.

3/22/08 On draught at the Cask Festival. Aroma is sour molasses with a fuesel note. Appearance is dark brown with a moderate tan head. Flavor is molasses with a dark cherry syrup tone. Mouthfeel is full bodied and syrupy. Overall, not bad, but might be a bit too rich to have much.

sample @ cask fest - jet black and medium body; aromas of bourbon, roasted malts; drinks smooth and creamy; flavors are sweet and slightly burnt; bourbon is at a enjoyable level; so good and my fav of the night

WA Cask Fest. Very black. Beautiful nutty bourbon aroma and taste. Very little cherry at all, but it’s there. Packs a punch, but still fairly smooth. Well done.
