bb (2005), Martinez, California, USA May 1, 2008 Bottle. Amber beer with an off-white head. Malty, yeasty, slight citrus and earth aroma. Sweet orange and malt flavor with yeast, a bit of dust, and earth. Possibly a bit of tartness as well. Medium body - carbonation a little low. Lingering orange, citrus, malt, and yeast. Different, but not bad.
JCastner (9), New York, USA does not count Aug 7, 2008 Not a bad effort (better than the rating suggests). Medium bodied copper pour with aroma of cooked carrots, olives, cloves and alcohol. Taste is of fruit and cloves. The finish burns. A little disappointing. ILoveNewBeer (78), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Jul 27, 2008 I really like this beer. I bought it because of the frogs on the front and the fact that the French translation of "Menage" means housework. I went into Dirty John’s today and saw a guy with a bottle of it in his arm and asked him if he had had it. He said no and I told him it was a really good beer. anders37 (2515), Malmö, Sweden Jul 26, 2008 Draught @ Issaquah Brew House. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Fruity malty and slightly yeasty spicy aroma. Has a fruity malty spicy flavor with some hints of yeast and hops. Fruity yeasty spicy finish. Angeloregon (1694), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 11, 2008 Thanks to Dave at By the Bottle for sharing this cellared beer. Poured a rich hazy orange body that seemed to glow. Sweet, tart, and fruity. Nice hops and spiciness. Yeasty esters with a nice astringent, crisp, mildly sour finish. Yum! Ungstrup (10939), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 3, 2008 Draft at Rogue Public House, Astoria. An unclear orangey beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of spices, yeast, malt, and fruit, leading to a dry and slightly alcoholic finish.
