2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 weeare138 (936) - Collegeville, USA - FEB 13, 2007
Much thanks to egajdzis for bringing this Tripel(one of my fav styles) per my request...
Cool looking 750 mL with a wax tipped cap.
Appears a very hazy orange gold with a 1 finger white head that slowly fades out. Streaky lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is of citrus, yeast, light tartness, apple skin, some Belgian goodness...but a bit off key. Seems more like a wheat beer gone awry.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with tart apple skin, bubble gum...just really overkill on the esters with not a whole lot of anything else going on.
Mouthfeel is tart, acidic, apple-ish, yeasty, medium bodied, and infected.
Seems weird that they went through all the trouble to safe lock this beer with the cork, cap, and wax and it still tasted like wild yeast got into the mix and gave it a vinuous feel. Hmmm...I’d like to revisit this if they did it again and they supplied the sample of course.

Hazy gold, with clove, sweet semi medicinal aroma and taste. Seems a bit under attenuated.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thanks Aaron for the pour! Pour is fizzy orange yellow, slightly hazy, thin to no white head. Aroma has notes of some grape, pear and slight peach notes, some off sugary candy notes with hints of bready and biscuity malts, no spice in there. Taste is some sweet candied fruits with pear and lots of grape notes, hints of some biscuity bread notes, getting to a touch of ethanol, finishing very sweet. Eh.

It’s a Belgian triple, and fits the style OK. I feel it could have a bit more flavor and aroma for a Belgian beer, but overall not bad. Nothing specific to critique.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 adnielsen (3767) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 28, 2012
Bottle @ Dan’s house. Not much head when poured. Clear, golden orange appearance with a small white head. Very tangy, orange fruity, bready yeasty, richly fruity aroma. Slightly boozy, bready, almost cloying, sugary, orange citrusy flavor. Noticeable alcohol. Some oxidation which I guess isn’t too surprising, as this bottle is probably two years old. Not horrible but it was way too expensive for the quality.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 maneliquor (1193) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 28, 2011
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Copper pour with a frothy white head. Sweet citrus and stone fruits on the nose with some bland yeast undertones. Some pepper and citrus in the taste, quite spicey. Bit boring but not bad

Well clear golden / copper. Citrus, spiceyness, barley sugar and other sticky toffee aromas. Similar flavours. Nothing offputtinf but doesn’t grab you as an absolute classic of must drink proportions.

Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joe’s this beer poured a medium yellow color with a large fluffy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was citric and a bit yeasty with a sugary undertone. The flavor was tart orange and lemon with a bit of butter and bread and touches of Sweettart candies , pepper and chalk. The finish was long, tart and dry with lingering sugar and citrus. Light body. Ok.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 mkel07 (1816) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - APR 21, 2011
750ml bottle. Apricot coloured beer with a low lying white foam that disperses into floating islands of bubbles. Peach dominates the aroma, sweet. Fruit flavoured with a touch of alcohol that warms the throat and is smooth all the way down.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BillKismet (2762) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 1, 2011
Liquid gold colored with a thick ring of head and vigorous upward flow of bubbles showcasing a lively body. Refined pepper yeastiness. Nice spicing, yet subdued and some tangyness. The body is of pepper yeast and Belgian Beer Crusts. Doughy and ancient.
