UPDATED: DEC 21, 2009 Pours a deep caramel color with minimal tan head. A great aroma of roasted malts, coffee, sweet molasses, and alcohol. The body is thick and creamy. The flavor is strong. Roasted malts, molasses, coffee, cocoa, and alcohol. It’s a pretty bitter stout. This is an interesting and damn’d good beer.

Quite a tasty little stout. Great mouthcoating flavors, creamy and sweet, with tasty roasted coffee, milk chocolate and dusty cocoa powder. I could drink this all day long.

(Draft: Issaquah Brewhouse in Issaquah, WA) Supposedly a coffee stout, the huge aroma is very sweet, roasty and alcoholic like an Imperial Stout. But ahh yes, the coffee is readily apparent in the flavor. Alongside the strong mocha flavor is the same moderate sweetness and strong, moderately bitter roast, plus lots of chocolate, and a modest alcohol presence. Ooh, this is a great tasting stout, like dessert to me. Fairly thick and hearty, but no thick that it’s syrupy, and for all the bitter roast, it’s quite smooth on the palate and easy to drink. Black and opaque, even at the edges. The tall, creamy, dark tan head maintains a sizeable layer for the entire session, depositing a few dense patches of lace on the glass. Wonderful!

Black body with a medium to dark brown head. Nose is pungent and rich chocolate and coffee, with a roasted smoky bite and a medium thickness, coating the mouth and leaving a sweet dark chocolate residue. Somewhat thin at the back, and the hops are hard to notice under the sweetness, but it present itself well as a rich stout with a dusty, light finish.
