2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
On tap at the source as part of a sampler. Comes to the table a tawny golden brown with an off white head that displays great retention. The aroma is a real mess, I had to ask twice what beer I was drinking because I thought this might be a fruit beer. Extremely fruity nose with hints of bread and toffee and little to no hops. The flavor is sweet and fruity with some toffee and bread and a slight metallic flavor. Medium body with a light level of carbonation, and a sweet tart mouthfeel. Did they use a lager yeast at 70 degrees in this beer or just a fruity ale yeast? This is a horrible example of an Oktoberfest, call it an English pale ale and I would have rated it much higher.
