COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beautiful, dark brown ale brewed with two hops (Fuggles and Saaz) and a healthy portion of Blackcurrant Juice Concentrate. Delicate, smoky undertones with a refreshing, fruity zing. At 3.7% abv it is a lovely mild for those balmy afternoons in the garden or for supping gently in the cool of a summer evening

Cask at the Woodman’s Rest, Shirley, Solihull. Poured a deep mahogany with a frothy tan head. The aroma is roasted malt with a hint of fruit. The flavour is medium bitter with a dry yeasty blackcurrant fruit palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask from The Three Stags Bebington. Pours back, thick off-white head. Some blackcurrant on the aroma, plus a light malt. Taste is sweet, more blackcurrant, very light hoppiness. The blackcurrant isn’t overpowering. But just a touch watery.

Cask in Turner’s Mill, Redcar. pretty close to black with a creamy tan head. Bitter roasty notes at first before some sharp juicy blackcurrant on the finish. Doesn’t quite work as a combination. Feels thin too.
