3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On cask at the Haymarket.
Appearance - opaque black with a nice creamy head.
Nose - roasted nuts and dark chocolate. No blackcurrant.
Taste - quite a sweet blackcurrant and chocolate melange. Creamy at the end.
Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly fresh finish.
Overall - good example of a Mild. Iím not sure if I think itís good because the blackcurrant is well hidden or because itís well integrated.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask by hand-pump at Drum & Monkey, Glasgow - very dark brown near black, good bubbly beige head, chocolate and blackcurrant on the aroma, negligible lacing, flavours as per aroma, Iím not convinced the flavours blend too well, but this is an interesting and well drinkable ale, marginal sourness on the finish

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at the Haymarket Bar. Pours slightly murky back, thick off-white head. Definitely has blackcurrant on the aroma, plus a light chocolate malt note. Taste is sweet, more blackcurrant, very light hop bitterness. Medium body, thin texture, sweet at the end. Interesting.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask conditioned handpump Masque Haunt London 07/06/13. A near black purply coloured beer with off-white head and lace. Fruity blakcurrants. Low hopping. A bit of sourness from the berries. Works pretty well although itís too sweet for a session. Nice in small measures though.
