Cask at the Victoria Station Spoons, 15/03/13.
Clear golden amber with a decent sized frothy white head. Good lacing ensues.
Nose is quite thin, some dark malt, barley, straw, biscuit.
Taste comprises caramel, grain, light hops, grass - a bit more depth of flavours than the nose suggested.
Medium bodied with moderate carbonation, fair smooth on the palate, some bitterness in the finish.
An OK bitter.

Cask at the King’s Head W2. This was a deepish copper coloured beer with some orange marmeladey hop character. A little thin and quite forgettable.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tombyars (1204) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - FEB 1, 2012
Tasted this in The Lord Moon of the Mall, Whitehall, London (JDW) in July 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale honey amber in colour with a thin white head. Very slight note of hop flowers in the brief aroma. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a digestive biscuit base with thick cut maramalde fruit lending booming citric notes in the mouth. Tart citric hop resins compliment the malt well in the long aftertaste. Finish is resiny with barley sugar and bitterness coming through. An ok bitter but nothing really much to shout about.

Cask at the Salisbury on Green Lanes. Amber coloured with very little head. Aroma is malt and a touch of hops. Bit sweet. Taste has a touch of honey, and more sweet malt. Bit thin. Very run of the mill for me.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 sm89walt (1586) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - JAN 12, 2012
275ml gift bottle. An amber coloured beer that poured with a slowly decreasing - though never fully disappearing - one finger foamy white head. Caramel, grain and apple aromas. A grainy, malty, slightly biscuity flavour profile, some tangy apple again and with a toasted bitterness and a dash of hop at the back. Lightish body, medium carbonation, short finish. Unsatisfying.

Cask @ Fulflood Arms, Winchester. Poured with smallish off white head which was short lived. Amber colour bitter which looked nice in the glass. Sweet aroma with toffee notes as well as malt and slight fruitless. Malt on taste with a medium bitterness, slight toffee and biscuit. Body is medium. Aftertaste is slightly astringent with a medium bitterness. Very drinkable.

Thin and quite dull pale ale - needs some oomph to push it beyond the average level. Not much else to say really
