Hand pulled cask at the Moon and Sixpence (JDW) Hatch End. Amber with a white head. A typically unimaginative offering from this most boring of brewers. Watery toffee malt and the bare minimum of hops.

Cask@The Market Porter, Borough, London. Grainy, almost earthy malt flavours. Feels quite rough on the tongue, with some sligtly harsh acidity or something. Whatever it was, i didnít find this pleasant at all.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Handpump, Market Porter. Malty beer, but some hops in the finish. Not really well balanced, and there is some yeasty residue on the tongue. Try again!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask (handpump), Market Porter, Southwark, November 2006. Darkish amber colour, tending towards copper. A fruity best bitter with soft malt, touches of peppery hop and understated bitterness. Decent balance. Smooth and easy drinking. A pleasant and well-tempered brew, if nothing particularly out of the ordinary.
