Bottle conditionedOrangey-brown in colour, slightly hazy despite careful storage and pouring; a trace of white head and some carbonation; yeasty smell with a sweet honey aroma; quite full in the mouth, honey flavour but not oversweet, understated bitter aftertaste and then some residual sweetness.

Cask (handpump) at the Duke of Wellington, Dalston on 24 July 2011. Golden amber colour. Fruity notes in the aroma and flavour. Slightly floral. Delicate and drinkable. A rather pleasant quaffer.

Cask@Duke Of Wellington, London. Golden colour, small head. Aroma is fruits, wood and some mild bready notes. Flavour is quite much the same with also earthy and floral notes. Rather steong wooden notes in the finish.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, London (JDW). Light brown with a lacy white head, slightly floral aroma with a little spice, malty and slightly honeyish at first, then turning dry and clean. Light floral hoppy finish.

JDW Marble Arch. Flowery and fragrant and soft and very drinkable with good honey flavouring. Lovely stuff. Why have lager when you can have this (and more of it, as it is full bodied enough at 4%). Spanking.

an amber coloured ale, that was way to fizzy from the bottle and not that complex.

BCA Thanks to Steve North Oxon CAMRA for this one. Poured a bit hazy golden brown but that may have been carelessness on my part. I noticed the honey in the aroma but the elderflower didn’t come through to me as easily still it was a pleasant aroma. The taste was also very good nice lush sweetness to this with honey again showing but also the malts and hops were very much in evidence nice soft mouthfeel decent beer.
