Cask (backlog). Reddish amber colour with a small beige head, which vanishes quite quickly. Aroma is clove, mild ginger and some caramelly notes along with mild mulled wine like spiciness (not that much wine). Flavour is sweet malts, some spices, mild alcohol as well as some sugary notes to it. Quite a spicy brew, with a mild bitterness to the finish.

Cask at the Masque Haunt, JDW, London. Pours clear copper with a tight, creamy tan head. Caramel and semi-ripe berries on the nose. Medium sweet flavor, some toffee, tangy berries, a metallic note. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Light sweet finish, some sugary bread, tangy fruits, mildly astringent leaves. Quite poor.

downender (7960) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 30, 2010
Cask-conditioned at the JDW inside Victoria Station, London 28/12/10. Amber with a slight white head. Sweetish, malty aroma with a hint of spicy hop. Flavour was seriously dull, with some caramel and a vague fruitiness, before a moderately bitter finish. A forgettable brown beer.

Handpulled cask at JDW Hatch End. Amber with a white head. Biscuity malt and restrained english hops. A very ordinary bitter with no festive attributes whatsoever.

Cask (handpump) @ Market Porter, SE1, London. Clear dark red / amber color with a small virtually none, off-white head. Aroma is clove, allspice, butter, caramel (much like glögg). Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (291206)

Cask@The Market Porter. Noticabel diacetyl characters. Buttery caramel flavours, with a slight sour edge. Lightly spicy notes towards the finish, otherwise not much happening.
