Gravity at the Bree Louise, London. Dark red-copper with no head. Scent of berry fruit, dark chocolate and sugars. Well balanced, sweet on the end. Lots of roasted malts, a bit thin. Somewhat like red wine at times.

Bottle picked up at Wyevale Garden Centre, Bicester, Oxon, 20-05-07. Pours a fairly standard brown colour, sweet and malty aroma and similar flavour although really quite tasty with a little fruitiness and nuttiness in there also, a good beer.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 6, 2007
Cask (handpump) at The Pommelers Rest (JDW), Tower Bridge, London, February 2007. Dark brown with a ruby tinge. No head to speak of - unusual for a JDW as they usually make full use of the sparkler. Certainly aiming at a Winter Warmer style, with some chewy malt and tart berry fruits, underpinned by a robust, earthy bitterness. The overall feel is rather bittersweet - an attribute that I’ve noticed in a number of Itchen Valley beers - especially on the finish. A solid, perfectly decent but perhaps a little light and lacking in the richness of fruit that one might expect in a Winter warmer. Somehow lacked a little impact.
1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20 JensenTaster (1718) - DENMARK - MAR 1, 2006
(on bottle thanx MartinKubert)This must be one of those Old ale that are...odd. Nice dark orange color, no aroma at all and a sort-of fruity tase; apple and plum. Gets SO hard in the bitterness, real fast in the finish. A very ugly remake of a Sam A label and no rebel of mine.

Quite watery and thin. Some straw is noticable. Medium amount of bitterness in the finish. Quite ordinary ale.

[My 1000th English rating] An orange beer with an orange head. The aroma is malty with notes of oranges as well as a slightly dusty hop note. The flavor is sweet malty, with light notes of caramel, and again this slightly dusty hop note.
