2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Alphadelic (1630) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 6, 2010
The powerful nose if of honey-sweet malts. In the mouth it is a different story. A light, but full bitterness almost obscures the bran-like undertone which then comes out in the finish.

Bottle picked up from Wyevale garden centre, Bicester, Oxon, 20-05-07. Poured amber in colour some fruity citrus notes to the aroma. Tasted nice fruity and malty, possibly a touch sweet but otherwise very quaffable and possibly the best of the four from Itchen Valley that I’d had in bottles over the last few days.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - APR 5, 2006
Poured from the bottle (courtesy of the London crew), amber in colour with quite a lot of carbonation present, rising to a large rocky, slightly off-white, head (which kept on building). An earthy maltiness to the aroma, with some citrus hop notes. A dry, bitter and dusty mouthfeel, with a biscuity malt flavour and a slightly tangy fruit finish. OK, but not spectacular.
