Commercial Description:
The name CascaZilla is a play on both the name of our local Cascadilla Gorge and the monster amounts of Cascade hops in this beer. This red ale gets its distinctive color from a healthy portion of caramel malt, which also lends some body and sweetness to the beer. The predominant flavor and aromoa of this beer, however, is brought to you by the fresh American hops. If you haven't done so yet, treat yourself to Ithaca Beer's new monstrously hoppy Red Ale.

Rating #800. Bottle thanks to Blankboy. Dark red with zero visible carbonation and a thick pancake batter coloured head. Aroma: Pineapple and sweet hops, caramel and a little pine and some floral notes too. Flavour: Bitter (yet not too bitter) hops, malt definitely coming through, grapefruit hiding in there also with a nice long dry and sweet finish. Enjoyable. Thanks Paul :-)

A darh amber body with a short near-white head and good lacing. Very crisp, exceptionally smooth, easy drinking IPA. A great IPA.

Bottle Pours a good reddish amber with a small off white head. The head produces nice lacing. It is a very good looking beer. The first hit of the aroma is of crisp hops. Then the sweetness starts to hit the nose. Has a strong carbination but its good. A nice moutheel. Taste is a nice hoppy bitterness, but not too bitter. Has a good blend and hides the alcohol very well. A light to medium body. Has a good finish. It not the strongest IPA but its good.

Very nice dark reddish brown hue to this one. Big time hop aroma, huge, and floral and kinda wet, but not citrus. Very smooth rounded bitterness, not nearly as bitter as I though it would be after getting a hint of the aroma. Solid red ipa. Good for session drinking.

Bonus bottle courtesy of blipp. Pours a deep amber color with mild carbonation and a trim beige head. Smells and tastes of crisp hops, caramel, aromatic citrus blossom, and faint notes of red grapes and apples. Drys slightly on the finish, but a fine beer that I would regularly drink if I could.

Bottle: Poured an amber color with not a lot of head. The aroma was citrus and hops. The flavor was smooth, citrus, pine, and a nice hopped finish. Overall, not a strong IPA, but an easy drinker.

Pours orange mahogany into a shaker. Fluffy micro head with excellent retention leaves spot lacing as it barely recedes. Citrus and resin aromas. Creamy caramel upfront, turning medium and soft in the middle yet crisp in the dry grapefruit finish. Nicely balance ride.

Draft at the Peekskill Brewery. Pours a clear ruby amber color with a medium white head. Light lacing. Lots of citrus hops and a touch of sweet caramel malt notes. Thin to medium body with a little sweetness and very fine carbonation. Finish is bitter grapefruit, but not a glaring huge bitterness. Quite nice.
