17thfloor (1403), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 28, 2008 Pours dark amber/copper. Sweet caramel malt aroma and some hops. Flavor is much the same, with a touch of dark fruit and maybe some honey. Average IPA body slightly sticky. hoplover406 (204), Crofton, Maryland, USA Apr 27, 2008 Bottle. Pours deep amber with thin off white head. Big malty aroma followed by piney hops and berries. Tasty. Kind of slick. Not very bitter, at least not for an IPA or Red ale or whatever the hell this is. Get a bit of grapefruit in the flavor though. Very decent beer. Worth trying. dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 4, 2008 Thanks to Andrew for the bottle. Pours clear reddish with a thick tan head. Earthy, citrus, hop aroma. Taste is very hoppy, bitter, citrus. Has a nice bit of malt in there trying to balance it Finishes with a bitter grapefruit finish. Tasty. santos999 (318), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 24, 2008 Monstrously hoppy red ale. Hmmm.. 2 things I don’t particularly care for - hops and reds. We’ll see. Clear amber body with a big tan head leaving good lacing. Fruity and piney aroma, with caramel undertones. Very grassy and floral bitterness upfront, with some sweet malt notes coming through. Incredibly long lasting bitter finish, with big hints of grapefruit and melon. Not a bad brew, and pretty easy to drink. abcfan (247), New Jersey, USA Mar 7, 2008 This beer is very drinkable. It has a nice amber hue with big hop aroma. Taste is a little disappointing given the aroma, but is a decent brew. Would drink again! cloudstrife (50), Rochester, New York, USA Mar 6, 2008 Bottle, poured a clean red/brown with a yellowish-white head. I would say an excellent addition to those who like IPA’s or those who think that IPA’s are too bitter. DragonsHead (137), Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 5, 2008 Definately not an IPA, too balanced for that. Malt and hop aroma, with a thin hea. Nice hop flavor withouth too much of the overpowering stuff. Nice balance overall. mtoast (290), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 4, 2008 IPA eh? Seems more like an amber ale on roids. Hazy red color, nice fluffy white foam, a little lackluster in the lacing department. Moderately hoppy, more about the malt. Not that there is anything wrong with that, just if you’re going to brag about how hoppy a beer is, maybe you shouldn’t bury the hops under all that malt.
