| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 18, 2009 Pours a horrible mud puddle of a copper color. No head. No lacing. Aroma is almost nonexistent. Taste is "dirty" like earthy. Some sweetness. Bitterness like it wasn’t thought out but just there because the hops were an afterthought. Very disappointing. travita (1908), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 12, 2009 Bottle thanks to thirdeye11. The look is golden to orange in color with an off white head. The smell is hops, sweet, some nuts, and pine. The taste is caramel, sweet, nuts, bitterness, and hops. puboflyons (601), New Hampshire, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Oct 8, 2009 Poured from the 355 ml. bottle nicked September...I assume 2009. The pour is reddish-amber with a suitable beige head but quite cloudy in clarity. The aroma brings out both the malty sweetness and a powerful Cascade hoppiness. The mouthfeel is medium to bold. The taste teases the tongue with caramel and malts with a generous dose of hops. It is labeled as a Red but has all the features of a good IPA. Leighton (265), New York, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 7, 2009 Bottle at Peculier pub. Poured a dark brown with a decent beige head. Nose is denominated by the sweet, roasted malt aroma; the hops barely break through. In the flavor you can detect a bit more of the hop character, although the backbone of this beer was definitely the malts, which made the beer quite sweet with notes of caramel and creamy toffee. Nicely bodied, very filling and smooth. Pretty darn tasty. glennmastrange (842), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 3, 2009 Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of roasted and caramel, pine and a little orange for the hops, light broth for the yeast, with hints of date and pepper. Head is creamy/rocky, light tan with a red tint, with fair lacing and is mostly lasting. Flavor starts moderately acidic and the long finish is moderately to heavily bitter. Palate is medium, watery and has a lively carbonation and a very dry finish. A little simple on flavor, but the aroma is something to come back for. rman18 (201), South Amboy, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2009 Light on the nose but heavy on the tongue. Great drinkable but not watery palate. Nice hoppy flavor. Best red ale that I have ever drank. jake65 (1698), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2009 Bottle - thanks beerbaron420. Pours a reddish amber with a finger of beige head. Nose is rich with citrus hops and light florals. Yes! A hop-dominated IPA for sure. Nice amount of citrus and florals up front with some fruity notes and caramel before a lingering floral bitter finish. Nice.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 1, 2009 Draft at GABF 2009. Pours a clear medium amber with a medium foamy white head and decent lacing. Aroma is caramel malt, earth, and piney C-hops. Flavor is not quite as hoppy as I expected. Maybe I am just too used to west coast IPAs. Sweet caramel malt, earth, resin, pine, and a tiny bit of citrus. Body is medium with some mild lasting bitterness.
