Arayaga2 (932), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 28, 2007 Amber colored with thin white head. Aroma and flavor are weak hops and sweet malt. Minimally carbonated with a fairly dry and bitter finish. $3.5/12oz nuplastikk (1159), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 25, 2007 Very tasty red ale. Filtered. Caramel amber color. Lots of flavors intertwining. Amber malt, intense cascade aroma and bitterness, and the warming of the alcohol make this a real enjoyable and memorable beer. McGarnigle (302), Rochester, New York, USA Sep 18, 2007 Bottle best before 9/07. Clear amber color, head doesn’t last.Light-to-medium body with moderate carbonation. This is listed here as an IPA but I’m not sure if that’s how the brewer sees it. It’s bascially a hoppy version of an amber ale. Sweet, caramel taste up front, with some grapefruit hops at the end. Not too bitter; dry finish. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 14, 2007 Amber in color with medium sized head. Hoppy malty aroma and taste. Some caramel notes come into play in the finish. Decent beer. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Sep 9, 2007 pretty big sample at the brewery. Amber in color with a medium sized off white head. Aroma is alot of cascade hops, hops are somewhat earthy and resinous along with citrus, a nice amount of caramel sweetness also in the nose. Taste is nice, with alot of grapefruit, earthy hops and a nice solid malt backbone with a touch of caramel sweetness throughout. Moderate bitterness in the taste, that becomes a bit stronger and lingers after the finish. Well crafted. mrant (330), New York, USA Sep 8, 2007 Smells very strongly of citrus hops, like a good IPA should. Pours a nice dark slightly hazy copper with a decent head. Taste is complex and suprisingly light on the hops and bitterness. A very different IPA, but not bad. DougShoemaker (2855), Toronto, Canada Sep 3, 2007 Full aroma of orange, piney hops, muted malt, orange/red colour, pours a firm long lasting, finger of custard head, some pretty lace also. Strong taste of orange/pine bitterness, fine malt underpins quite well. Full bodied, tongue tinglingly bitter, almost chewy texture. Terrific! Cascazilla is the right name all right! Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 3, 2007 Draught at Boctown. Very hoppy fruity sweet nose. Fresh grassy hops, grapefruit, mild caramel malt. Clear brownish-amber body with thin off-white lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts with medium dry irish ale type body, with hint of sweetness and caramel malt. Decent medium sweetness with hoppy floral grassy finish. Bitter and fresh but not overly harsh. Very mild finish considering the heaviness of the aroma and taste. Not overly complex but nice.
