Commercial Description:
The name CascaZilla is a play on both the name of our local Cascadilla Gorge and the monster amounts of Cascade hops in this beer. This red ale gets its distinctive color from a healthy portion of caramel malt, which also lends some body and sweetness to the beer. The predominant flavor and aromoa of this beer, however, is brought to you by the fresh American hops. If you haven't done so yet, treat yourself to Ithaca Beer's new monstrously hoppy Red Ale.

Pours a copperish color with a cream colored head that thins out quickly. The hops are pretty evident in the smell, as well as the after-taste. Very smooth and easy to drink

bottle- white head, red in color, extremely clear...smells of cascade hops of course, a little bit of caramel malt, but mostly the hops. Felt the light carbonation left a little to be desired, some bitterness in the flavor, definte fruit tastes- apples mostly, but not too much...not a very heavy beer...nice and dependable, a good beer for almost any occassion.

A hoppy red, significant white head on brownish body. Hoppy aroma including C hop. Above average carbonated, very bitter not balanced, thin mouthfeel. Not satisfying finish, although some caramel in there. Tatebuds demolished.

Gifted by JoMcPhee, gracious. 12 oz bottle poured into goblet glass. Pours dark reddish amber with a small head. Aroma is strong with oily, juicy, grapefruit hoppiness. Slight caramel malt sweetness. As it warms strong candy sugar sweetness comes out. Taste is a bit watered down but still strong on the hop. A medium bitterness at the end. A slight sweet aftertaste. A bit thin and watery body. A nice hoppy sensation with a bit too watey flavor.

A very clear, solid amber brew is topped with a thin white head that leaves excellent lacing. The aroma is a bit sweet-- like pineappley hops. There is a bit of medium malt in the nose and perhaps a bit of wood. It is a smooth, almost creamy, medium-light beer with a well-blended and well-balanced flavor. It has a piney wooden flavor; well bittered. It has a rather quick aftertaste. Bold, yet refined.

Bottle courtesy of Thaichile, thanks! Pours a copper color with a decent sized off white head that settles down a little. Nice lacing. Aroma is pine, orange, grapefruit, sweet malt. Flavor is much the same with a knock of cascade hops. Palate is medium, carbonation is medium, resinous, somewhat dry and bitter finish. Solid product, easy drinker.

Bottle: Copper colored pour with an off white head. Aroma, caramel and earthy hops, some citrus. Flavor, malty up front, a dry earthy bitterness, some grassy notes, and a hint of pine. Not bad.
