| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 17, 2009 I originally wanted to try this beer based upon an ad in some beer magazine, marketing works. I like the label with a lizard breathing fire and red hops. Cool name too, I assume this is heavily hopped with cascades based upon the name. The color id a nice orange red. It has a very nice malty and hoppy smell like a good barleywine almost. The taste is chewy, some malts and finishes with a nice hop bitterness that is quite enjoyable. Thanks to Wasatch for the trade, this is enjoyable.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 7, 2009 dark amber pour is pretty with a slight offwhite head. aroma is hoppy, piney, as well as some bready malt. nice mouthfeel, like most ithaca brews, and some nice sweet caramel malt. A little less hoppy then I was expecting but still some nice piney flavor and some bitterness. Overall a solid ipa from Ithaca. Sonicdescent (377), Donora, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Aug 6, 2009 Very nice pour, thick fluffy head, great carbonation, red/brown liquid. Scent is citrusy hops over a very light malt background. Taste, similar to scent, but not as overpowering as a fresh nugget nectar. Cascade hops over a caramel background. Good, but nothing special. Palate is acceptable. 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 2, 2009 Tap at random bar in Ithaca. Great dark amber pour with a fast fading head. Doughy malt and pine hops on the nose. Same on the flavor but with a great malt character - pushing towards 8. Medium body and carbonation on the palate. Overall: solid darker IPA. ucusty (1881), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 15, 2009 Tap @ Ginger Man, Norwalk, CT. What first impressed me was the nice dark amber hue of this IPA. Wjhile the hoppy flavor was modest and lacking of undertones, the palate was very wide. I liked the combination of hop bitterness and sweetness. One of the better IPAs I’ve tried.
