502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Aug 2, 2009 Tap at random bar in Ithaca. Great dark amber pour with a fast fading head. Doughy malt and pine hops on the nose. Same on the flavor but with a great malt character - pushing towards 8. Medium body and carbonation on the palate. Overall: solid darker IPA. ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 28, 2009 Thanks to fredandboboflo for this one! Transparent copper pour with a thick tan head and spotty lace. Caramel and cascade pine on the nose. Bittersweet flavor with hints of grapefruit, pine and caramel. Alcohol well masked. Flavor and aroma slightly subdued. I would love to try again when a little more fresh clingman71 (239), Centerville, Ohio, USA Jul 20, 2009 deep reddish color with a nice beige head. Aroma is a nice mixture of sweet caramel malt and piney hops. This is extremely drinkable, excellent session beer. The flavor is a perfect balance of hop bitterness, flavor, and malt backing. alobar (1006), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 19, 2009 Pours a clear red color with a slightly off white head. Aroma of malts, hops, and a bit of caramel. Flavor of caramel, hops, and a touch of sweetness. Very nice beer! joebudzjoe (223), Connecticut, USA Jul 15, 2009 Tap @ Ginger Man, Norwalk, CT. What first impressed me was the nice dark amber hue of this IPA. Wjhile the hoppy flavor was modest and lacking of undertones, the palate was very wide. I liked the combination of hop bitterness and sweetness. One of the better IPAs I’ve tried. Tmoney99 (4663), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 12, 2009 Bottle at The Comet.
Poured clear reddish copper color with an average fizzy off-white head that mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy hoppy and sweet malt aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of medium to long duration.
This is a solid drinkable brew. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Jul 9, 2009 Pours deep amber with a small beige head. Aroma is light, but pleasant, with sweet caramel, and piny hops. Flavor follows the aroma well with piny hops and caramel upfront, and a thick bready finish. Palate is medium with a bit of lingering bitter- sweetness. Just a bit watery though. Wasn’t expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. Not amazing, but a fairly solid ipa none the less.
