ALCOHOLNIZM (59), WARWICK, USA Jun 29, 2009 FIRST OFF I HAVE TO SAY THAT THE BOTTLING AND THE GIMIC FOR THIS BEER IS GREAT EVEN SURPPASSING THE ARROGANT BASTARD ALE. THE PACKAGING IS LIKE A 70’S B-MOVIE POSTER WITH A LIZARD BLOWING FIRE, TOTALLY RIDICULOUS AND AWESOME. POURS A CLOUDY AMBER RED WITH A LITTLE HEAD SMELLS DELICIOUS AND LOOKS GREAT. TASTES LIKE A TYPICAL BITTER IPA BUT LACES THE MOUTH WELL WITH FLAVOR NO REAL FRUITY FLAVOR LIKE MOST TYPICAL IPAS HAVE. THIS IS A REAL BEER DRINKERS BREW THUMBS UP. Naven (864), Poway, California, USA Jun 29, 2009 Deep, rich amber red color. Nose is hops and malts. Flavor is.....wait for it......hops and malt. Really good balance on this one. Kind of reminds me of Calico. arventresca (334), Greenville, North Carolina, USA Jun 27, 2009 Pours dard read with white head. This is exactly what it says it is. Hoppy and malty at the same time. A very good and unique red ale. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA Jun 27, 2009 Pours a brownish amber color with an off-white. Aroma is malty with plenty of citrus hops. Flavor is pretty well blended. Decent amount of maltiness with the hops. Slight bitter hop finish with a lingering flavor. bobbypaulson (100), , Minnesota, USA Jun 26, 2009 bottle at the deli as part of a meet the brewers night. The beer pours a golden brown color with a white head. nice hoppy smell with a lemony backing. the taste is ok but not over the top like the smell teased me it would have. cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA Jun 24, 2009 Nice amber/copper body with a lasting off white head and thick lacing. Hoppy aroma with a fair amount of citrus and pine, not as big as I was anticipating. Caramel and bread malt flavors backed by a crisp hop profile. Solid but came off more of a pale ale, I was expecting more hops in the nose and flavor considering it claims to be "monstrously hopped". CUJO (339), Brooklyn, New York, USA Jun 24, 2009 House of Brews: once again: aaarrrggghhh!!! I greatly dislike IPA’s!!! But I always try to be fair... Honestly not the best I’ve had. Pours a light red, darker than I expected. Aroma is the hoppiness that I did expect. Taste? HOPS, lot’s of bitter hops. Very little balance to this beer, again not my favorite. alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Jun 21, 2009 12 oz. bottle from Jungle Jim’s. Pours a clear reddish amber color with a sizable fluffy dirty beige head that leaves thick patchy lace. The aroma is hoppy with the emphasis being citrus and floral along with a sweeter caramel malt. The flavor has a nice malt base that is a combination of caramel and bread. The hops are more grassy and moderately bitter with only light citrus coming through. Medium mouthfeel, sessionable brew. I think from the nose I was expecting a different beer than what I tasted. Not bad, just different.
