Very strong fruit and floral aroma along with some caramel notes from the red malt. The hops is also very present in the flavor along with some maltiness lingering in the background. A bit of a bite in the finish. While I am not a hophead, I did enjoy this beer. mar (1981), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 9, 2007 pretty big sample at the brewery. Amber in color with a medium sized off white head. Aroma is alot of cascade hops, hops are somewhat earthy and resinous along with citrus, a nice amount of caramel sweetness also in the nose. Taste is nice, with alot of grapefruit, earthy hops and a nice solid malt backbone with a touch of caramel sweetness throughout. Moderate bitterness in the taste, that becomes a bit stronger and lingers after the finish. Well crafted. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 3, 2006 Clear amber, thin creamy off white head. Nose of soft grapefruit and florals with touches of earth and caramel. Nice cascade hop flavors without any sharp bitterness. Seems pretty well balanced with the citrus, roasted earth, and caramel blending nicely. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry, bitter finish. A good session IPA... fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
