Reddish brown with a thick film of head. The hops (grapefruit and maybe some pineapple) are there in the aroma, but there is also some caramel sweetness. The flavour is quite sweet as well, but the hops dominate, both in terms of flavour and finish. Not bad, but nowhere near the complexity or refinement of Mill Street’s Tankhouse Ale. thenick (746), North Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 13, 2009 Bottle. Pours a reddish-orange color with an off-white head. Aroma is malt and citrus hops, completely. Flavor is citrus up front, with hops, and a caramel/malt sweetness at the back-end. Alcohol pretty detectable, despite only 7% ABV, and the beer was pretty drinkable throughout. Not bad....Not bad at all. coldbrewky (742), Saugerties, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 17, 2008 Bottle via sampler pack. Woudn’t call it monstrously hoppy. Nose has a decent ammnt of resinous hops but not overwhelming. Pours a deeper brown /amber with a tight light tan head. Steady carbonation. Body is powerful upfront but wanes in the center and hops out for finish. Alcohol peeks out from the sweet malty body. Not a hop bomb but more of a hop pipe bomb. The aroma is very hoppy with a hint of spices. The taste is full of hops and grapefruit. The mouthfeel is kind of dry, but very enjoyable. :) arrogantb (734), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 17, 2009 I originally wanted to try this beer based upon an ad in some beer magazine, marketing works. I like the label with a lizard breathing fire and red hops. Cool name too, I assume this is heavily hopped with cascades based upon the name. The color id a nice orange red. It has a very nice malty and hoppy smell like a good barleywine almost. The taste is chewy, some malts and finishes with a nice hop bitterness that is quite enjoyable. Thanks to Wasatch for the trade, this is enjoyable.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 27, 2009 Amber with a thin white head. Balanced nose of fresh pine and biscuit. Flavor is similar with earthy pine, biscuit, and some sweet orange. Thin and salty but very balanced and rather enjoyable, particularly as the fresh hop is allowed to shine in comparison to the balanced malt. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2007 Bottle brought back from ’Cuse by Jeremy. Pours a clear red with a small but frothy, slowly disapating head. Very strong hop aroma, which is prevelant as soon as it’s uncapped.very slight hints of carmel malt. The taste is surprisingly smooth for a beer that is supposedly crazily hopped. There is an abundant flavor of hops, but it’s well balanced with the malt characters. Overall, a pretty good beer.
