mtoast (283), City of Rust, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 4, 2008 IPA eh? Seems more like an amber ale on roids. Hazy red color, nice fluffy white foam, a little lackluster in the lacing department. Moderately hoppy, more about the malt. Not that there is anything wrong with that, just if you’re going to brag about how hoppy a beer is, maybe you shouldn’t bury the hops under all that malt.
notalush (1994), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Aug 3, 2008 Clear ruby beer, with a moderate lace - thick caramel malt aroma, with strong notes of rye and caraway, and a strong hop presence - taste of rye bread, seeds, cracked grains - quite bready throughout, with strong hops coming through near the finish - rye bread is pretty much the best descriptor for this beer - it tastes pretty good, though. Brewbie (122), New York, USA Jul 21, 2008 growler. light ruby color, small lasting head. strong hop aroma. nice balance of hops and malts, with a piney hop bite at the finish wcampbell (398), Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 19, 2008 Decent. Strong hoppy flavor without too much balance. All citrus hop flavor. No hint of alcohol. Medium bodied. Bitter taste and finish. Not especially drinkable. By far the best offering in the variety pack. Not the best IPA at all. metsbcd (79), Connecticut, USA Jul 15, 2008 The label stopped me from buying it for a while, as I thought that there was no way something that looks like that can actually be good. The beer ended up being pretty solid. Nihon (188), Vernon, Connecticut, USA Jul 12, 2008 Dark amber, semi-sweet floral hoppy malty aroma. Flavor is very strong of hops(duh) , bitterness is not too overwhelming but does give you a kick. Nicely balanced, recommended for Hop-Heads!
