Bottle. Pours a dark leathery color that lets just a little light through and holds up a fizzy and small head. Aromas have quite a bit of spiciness to them... some cinnamon and bananas, a bit of brown sugar and dark fruit. Flavor is OK, but has me wondering about the Saison classification... lots of cloves with a touch of bananas against a backdrop of dark fruit and brown sugar. It’s a fairly dark brown sugar/fruit presence, though. Finish is pretty sweet and a little sticky on the palate, and there’s a hint of cardboard here, which is a little off-putting. That said, it can be overlooked and this isn’t bad.

On tap @ Coles, Buffalo NY> Darker brown pour with hints of maroon. Aroma is full of Belgian yeastiness, drfied fruits, some caramel malts. Taste is dried fruits up front, belgian yeastiness, some floral aspects, little chocolate in the finish. Decent complexity. Medium to fuller mouthfeel. Pretty good

A decent attempt at a Belgian style beer. Aroma was average. A weird mix of yeast and spices. Pour was an absolutely beautiful deep dark brown with a huge creamy tan head. Taste was different in a good way. A subtle mix of yeast and burnt caramel with a nice but weird sour aftertaste. Strong biting carbonation. Hints of spices come in and out. Good beer.

dark brown pour, copper edges....thing off-white fizzy head. Aroma is of sweet brown sugar and caramel, little notes of booziness in there as well, some roasted nuttyness. Flavor is definitely some burnt caramels, yeasty undertones, and bits of spice at the finish. Quite a pleasant sipper.

Dark brown pour with orange tinting on the edges. Small filmy offwhite head. aroma is boozey, yeasty, and nutty, some burnt caramel malt in there as well. Flavor is sweet but slightly burnt caramel malt with a doughy belgian yeast character. Slightly boozey on the finish, leaving my tongue a bit numbed. pleasant offering from a great brewery

On tap on Track 84. Pours a murky even orange-hinted brown, with a nip of white. Aroma is soft, with a bit of nutmeg-like spice and some lemon soap. Flavor is messy. A very medicinal bandaid-like yeast character that’s unappealing. Plastic-like. Sharp, a bit bitter, and spicy. Not much malty depth nor crisp dryness. A bit vague. Acerbic. Softens out a little in the backend, but I’m generally just not digging this.

Received a 12-oz bottle via trade with jdubFL. Pours a hazy reddish brown colored brew with a thick off-white head that has some nice retention. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, yeast, some tart berries and a hint of pepper. Taste is medium bodied, with taste of Belgian yeast, some caramel malt, spice and a touch of tart berries. Finish has a sweet caramel, candi sugar and yeast aftertaste that leaves behind some tart berry flavors. An interesting combination of Belgian ale and an amber ale.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear deep mahogany with a large creamy beige head. The aroma is has sweetness, caramel, spices, yeast, a splash of fruit and a slight dusty quality. The flavor has a decent caramel malt presence that seems to be a bit dusty as well. Maybe this is a dry earthy quality I am confusing for dust? The Belgian yeast, moderate candy sweetness, peppery spices and touches of fruit round out the flavors. Medium bodied and slightly warming. This is a decent offering from a brewery I am happy to have in the area (distribution that is).

Bottle from Root Cellar. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt and small alcohol aroma. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. This beer met my expectations.
