Tap sample. Poured clear hazy orange amber color with an average off-white frothy head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Solid pumpkin and spice. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium balanced pumpkin and spice sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid seasonal beer.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2014 Spicy aroma but wasn’t overwhelming. Appearance looked the same as other pumpkin ales. not much pumpkin flavor and didnt go over the top with spices(which i actually enjoy). I would drink this year round as it is sweeter than others and not as much pumpkin flavor. Prob 4th or 5th best of the 8 different pumpkin beers ive had this year.

Poured a dark cloudy amber with a thin head. Strong aroma of pumpkin with a bit of cinnamon. Taste very much the same. Pumpkin is definitely not hidden or masked by spices or malt flavors. Very smooth and light with a sweet finish.

On tap at Dutch’s... First pour from the keg. Completely cloudy kind of light brown color (which I’m sure will clear out in subsequent pours). Thin off-white head, leaving great thicker lace. Up front in the nose, great pumpkin, pumpkin spice, and a bit of citrusy hop aroma. In the flavor, a pretty impressive malt balance... Good chocolate, mild caramel, and a bit of that honey malt in there. Medium plus body.. Very smooth and easy-drinking. Crisp lighter carbonation, light chewiness to the body, more dry finish. Kind of a spicier taste towards the finish, mild to moderate bitterness, moderate sweet taste. Pretty solid, enjoyable pumpkin ale. Up front, I was loving this. It was my first pumpkin beer of the year, so my palate was ready. Maybe I needed a beer too, at the moment. Halfway through the spice started to show up a lot more and grind on the overall package a bit, and I slowed down. Still a very a solid, enjoyable pumpkin beer.

(bottle - 12 oz) Cloudy orange pour with a white head. Aroma is a very lightly spiced almost pumpkin bread smell. Good amount of pumpkin and not overpowered by the cinnamon. Bitter spice and pumpkin at the start. More like a pumpkin pie with a good amount of ginger and clover. Bitter and lightly sweet pumpkin finish.

Transfer from BA reveiw on 11-26-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Pours a burnt orange color with a tiny white head that fades almost instantly leaving no lacing. Smell – The smell is a mix of roasted malt, pumpkin and some sweet brown sugar and caramel. There are some very light nutmeg and clove aromas as well. Overall sweet and roasty. Taste – The taste starts out of sweet caramel and a bready taste. Quickly a sweet brown sugar laden pumpkin flavor mixed with a lighter spice of nutmeg and allspice come to the tongue. These flavors linger throughout the taste till the end where the roasted pumpkin and malt flavors increase. In the end a sweet-lightly roasted pumpkin flavor is left to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is a little above average in terms of creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather low. While a bit more carbonation would have been good for the sweeter nature of the beer, the creamy body (accentuated by the lower carbonation) was very good for the pumpkin flavors. Overall – Not a bad pumpkin brew. It is on the sweeter side without too much spice. Worth a try if you have a chance.

Tap. Pours a clear orangish gold body with a small fizzy white head. Big spice and pumpkin nose with lots of cinnamon and nutmeg, some decent pumpkin meat. The flavor is pretty well balanced, not over spiced, not overly sweet. Nice meaty flavor up front, finishes a bit heavy on the cinnamon though perhaps. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and almost creamy with soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty nice Pumpkin Ale, they didn’t overdo it on the spice.

Bottle. Clear gold with a thin off white head. Aroma and taste are both straight pumpkin pie. Taste does add a little bready malt which reinforces the "pie" aspect. Medium mouthfeel and carb with a short finish. I doubt I'll ever really love a pumpkin beer but this is certainly in the upper echelon.

Never one to pass up a new seasonal I grabbed an affordable single at the local store. While it may not have the depth or punch of some other fall harvest ales the result is good enough for a brewery like Ithaca. Just what I expected this is one to try fresh.

Aroma / Appearance - Mild carbonation and head bob in the creamy mandarin orange base. Nutmeg, cool whip, spices, sweet almonds, and more create the fell of a humid late summer afternoon.

Flavor / Palate - Spices include cinnamon and nutmeg. A burst of pumpkin is heavy on the earthy squash. Fluid pie filling wraps up a solid experience. Not overly deep this is still a fine way to pass the time. If you are in Ithaca’s market grab one next year alongside some other pumpkin ales.
