Hazy golden orange pour with meringue head that climbs out of the glass and leaves clumps of lacing. Aroma is moderately hoppy with citrus pine and caramel sweetness. More honey baked biscuit/malty than one would expect but extremely well balanced that I would love to have readily available. Nice chewy texture that coats but not cloying. Solid beer.

At Han Dynasty with Ray and Jay. Pours a cloudy orange-gold with thick off-white head and good lacing. Sweet honey malts dominate this. Some mild grassy hops (probably not fresh) but as much as I was expecting.

750 mL bottle from NIkki’s Liquors, Providence. Pours a hazy amber color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of big honey notes, clover, floral, earthy notes, toasted caramel malts. The taste is honey, citrus, earth, toasted caramel malts, floral, and citrus notes. Medium bodied. Quite different, and quite tasty.

(Rating #4315)

Bottled@Chriso "Donkey Dork Lord" pre-gbbf shindig 2011. Golden colour, small slightly off-white head, that leaves slight lace. Aroma is fruity, floral, mild tropical fruity and herbal notes along with sweet malts and some caramel. Flavour is sweet malts, caramel, some zest, fruits, mild honey, tropical fruit juice and quite bitter floral and grassy notes as well. Though I’m not that fond of IPA and DIPA, this was very nicely balanced! In fact I even had a bit more of it!

Bottle picked up while visiting upstate NY. The pour is an orange-gold color with a thin white head. Lots of caramel and toffee invade the senses; sweet florals too as well as resinous hops. This certainly smells like it’s going to be very sweet. And it is, although tolerable. There’s a fairly thick malty body here that shows a lot of sweet toffee. Some citrus and resinous hops counter that some. There’s a slick sweetness throughout, perhaps from the honey. It tries to dry out in the finish but remains fairly sticky. Eh, wasn’t into this one. The bottle doesn’t have a date but does have a batch number. I’ll check that. I have to think maybe this is well past it’s prime, although recent ratings are positive.

Poured quite hazy and with a little head that turned to lacing quickly. The smell was fresh hops, citrus and maybe a bit of sweet sticky icky! This is a very well balanced IPA both in smell and taste. Lots of hop bitterness but with a substantial malt profile. Grapefruit citrus and pine and a touch of honey sweetness also all in there. I really dig this beer. It is also nice and light on the tongue and smooth as can be. One that I will remember!

Poured from bottle, pours a clear golden with a thin white head and nice lacing through out the glass, the aroma has a ton of grapefruit and citrus on the nose, the flavor has a citrus kick on the front end with a nice bitter finish, nicely balanced overall, nice.

Pours hazy amber with a white fluffy head. Aroma is florals, honey, earthy and undertones of citrus. Taste is sweet with some bitters on the finish. Smooth and oily mouth feel, a little more substantial body then expected. Alcohol is well hidden. The honey definitely adds a nice dimension to the beer.

Pours an orange-yellow color with a white frothy head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, caramel, and honey. Flavor of grapefruit orange, caramel, slight hop bitterness, and a quick sweet honey finish. Creamy mouth feel. Really good beer.

750 ml bottle from the brewery, sampled at pushkinwow’s Beer Geek Extravaganza. 24MR12.

App.: Clear deep golden with a thin white head. Aroma: Resin, floral, honey, biscuit malt, citrus, dusty, nice, good malt/hop balance (leaning towards hops...not a bad thing). Palate: Medium body, somewhat relaxed effervescence. Flav.: Peppery, herbal, floral, big, weedy, strong hops, honey, biscuit malt, off-dry, big bitterness.

Nice.
