Brewed with vintage local Hops, American Barley, Wheat and Corn, Brute is fermented on Oak for many months with Brettanomyces, then finished with a blend of three Champagne yeasts. Enjoy the turbid citron hue, mature aroma, brash tartness and dry, quenching sparkle.

Bottle shared by someone at our January 19th tasting in the Yunk. Huge thanks to whoever brought this hard to find sour. Hazy orange pour, notes were tons of bubblegum, brett, champagne yeasts, lemon, and tart grape soda. Lots of carbonation on this medium bodied sour ale from Ithaca.

Bottle shared by badnewsbeers. Cloudy, sediment-laden pulpy orange body, massive thick off-white/cream head. Tart, fruity nose with light fruits- especially pineapple. Grapy, sugary body, almost artificially sweet with white grape juice and prickly, grassy wheat; cotton candy. Very good.

Bottle at Dunderölsprovning 2012. Hazy orange liquid with huge white head. Aroma of red berries, lemons, white pepper, wheat?, light cereal. Quite complex. Taste is dry and light to medium sour with notes of flowers, lemons and white pepper. Light to medium bodied with medium to high carbonation with small, champagne like bubbles. Nicely balanced.

E!037 on tap for VSK. Golden body, plenty of white head. Smells dry and yeasty, grassy, mild hops, some tartness. Surprisingly low on carbonation (possibly due to how it was tapped?). Palate brings smooth, mild fruits and citrus. Dry as hell, really nice.

Bottle 750ml. [E!018]. Thx JulienHuxley. Pours blond/golden with low white head. Some lacing. Aroma is of funk, acid, fruits. Taste is of bretts, funk, unreadable word, acid acetic. Palate: fair body. Overall: Refreshing, very good. A tad too heavy on acid.

Bottle, batch E!018. Clear light hazy gold pour with white head. Aroma is bretty, nice grainy aroma, light citric acidity. Taste is quite tart without being overly sour, nice brett finish. Palate is fluffy and finishes dry. Very well made.

Bottle (750 ml) batch E!018. Shared by JulienHuxley, thanks Julien & Pier-Luc! Golden with a small persistent white head and good lacing. Aroma is lambic like with brett, leather, barnyard, lemon and fruits. Champagne yeast give this beer is own personality though, very unique. Taste is quite similar but more prominent and with wood notes. Dry and tart mouthfeel. Nice complexity and great balance. A tasty and distinguished beer!
