flavor is cofee, flowery, hoppy roasted grains. very much coffee, the rest o♂ly adds nuances.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of RCL. Pours a dark reddish brown with a tiny, tiny beige head. Heavy coffee aroma - pretty much nothing else. Medium body, sweet dark roast and again heavy coffee and vanilla. No real bitterness. Easy going. 290311

1/15/11. Bottle shared at the Sea Bass tasting. Sour coffee aroma with big spicy chipotle. Sweet chocolate flavor with a big hint of coffee and lingering spice. Is this supposed to be spicy? Who knows.

Tasted at the big “SeaBass has got to go” tasting courtesy of SeaBass. Pours mahogany with just about no head. The aroma is chocolate, dark roasted malts, a bit earthy, spicy, a touch vanilla, faint wood, black strap molasses and a sense of dark roasted coffee. The taste is a bit bright and has tartness from dark roasted malt astringency as well as some black strap molasses, spicy black licorice, a touch of dark roasted coffee and dark roasted to burnt malts. Pretty darn tasty, this.

Part of the Exelior anniversary series. A good though not overwhelming beer. Incredible coffee nose. Black with somebubbles. Lactose to make it a sweeter milk stout, and that adds a little sourness in the finish. Carbonation has eased off through cellaring a coupl of year. A little light on mouthfeel. Not so great for coffee fans, but decent drinkability.

Bottle @ Seabass going away party, Jan15th ’11
Décidément, après la bière au café de Funky Buddha, je continue dans cette lancée avec cette excellent bière au café venant de Ithaca.
De couleur brune foncée, mousse de teinte beige.
Café est bien présent tant au nez que au palais. Le tut prend une superbe dimension en bouche ou je note de très bonnes notes de café au lait avec des teintes de chocolat. Mon seul point négatif est que la bière peut être du à son age est un peu trop amer et effervescente.
