Bottle. Black pour with some dissipating tan head. Well i can understand why this beer got ithaca in trouble about caffeine levels, because its dominated by roasted coffee. Awesome coffee stout, milk stout base makes for a creamy roasty coffee experience.

nice looking champagne bottle that could be easily passed as wine rather than beer. pours black with tan head that disappears quickly. lots of visible carbonation. nose is dark roast coffee and pepsi. also a hint of soy sauce and carmel. taste is HEAVY coffee with a little smoked wood afternotes. An excellent coffee stout that reminds me of barley island’s black majic java stout. wiih this bitch was available in minnesota.

Bottle pours black with light tan head. It was poured room temp. I’m glad it was poured that way, too. Aroma is dominated by coffee and roasted grains. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor is dark roasted coffee with a slight coffee chocolate finish. This is really good. I highly recommend drinking at room temp.

750ml from MrChopin - thanks, Kevin! I tried to hold off on this one but had to crack it recently. Very intense aroma of fresh oily bean and deep chocolate malts, roasted well. Oily looking sludge pour with a medium head, good retention. Mouthfeel was nice too, lactic with a pleasingly dry finish. But the flavor was off to me. Even though the other qualities keep the score relatively high, there was a sort of spoiled milk and ash thing that kept creeping in. Still a 6, but barely hanging on there. Maybe other bottles tasted better? Enjoyable even so, but could’ve been a knockout.

25.4 oz bottle. Dark brown with a spongy tan head that fades. Nose is coffee bean and hay with hints of dark chocolate and licorice. Medium to full body with a tang. Taste is espresso bean and cocoa with a grassy finish.

750mL bottle courtesy of steelersxl poured into a tulip.
Pours a dark chocolate brown with a bubbly tan head that receded fairly quickly to a big collar and swirl on the top. Some sticky lacing on the sides as well.
The aroma is like a iced latte, roasted coffee with a shot of cream. It’s a bit bitter in the nose with some cocoa.
The taste is even more bitter, with a dominant espresso flavor up front with lots of lactose and chocolate. The finish is mostly coffee, and, like the aroma, tastes like an iced latte.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied and certainly not in the impy stout territory but great for a milk stout.
This is a solid stout that’s really all about the coffee and lactose. Not one of my favorites, but not too bad.

Black with a thin mocha head. Aroma is heavily roasted, coffee, light alcohol, cream, chocolate. Taste is coffee, light alcohol, caramel, chocolate, fairly roasty but not over the top. Good stuff.

Bitter aroma with strong coffee in the nose. Pours nicely with good tan head. Taste is creamy. Coffee. Some roasted flavors. Not heavy at all. Don’t confuse it for an imperial. A take on the milk stout. Infuse it with coffee. Thanks to Matt for this one.

Bottle shared by argo0 on 1/10/10: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Has a fresh earthy roasty mocha coffee nose with some lactose sweetness. Starts with average fullness and a lightly sweet lactose flavor with some toasty dark malty notes and a roasty mocha finish. A pretty good coffee beer, but could use a little more body.
