COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with New York Blueberries and Brettanomyces, LeBleu is a blend of barrels filled in 2007, 2008, and 2009. It’s finished in the bottle with Champagne yeast. Enjoy the dusty rose appearance, mouthwatering aroma of ripe berries, piquant flavor and quick finish.

Bottle. Clear sparkling purple with pink-tinged, huge billowing head. Head remains throughout, lacing nicely. This is very reminiscent of Brute on the nose: dusty, earthy, sharp acidic sourness, but also faint berries, cereal grains, and oak. Incredibly dry and effervescent. Balanced sour and fruit elements, tannic grape skins, and funk. Blueberries do not dominate the more complex and interesting aspects of this beer, and instead play a supporting role, providing a touch of sweetness to balance out the dominant acidic and brett characteristics. Very high carbonation, crisp, refreshing. Another great sour from Ithaca.

Bottle at home with friends, courtesy of Dave. Thanks man!! Pour is hazy orange with a small white head that quickly dissipated. Big funky, urine, lactic, lemony, floral, honey, vanilla, and lactic aroma. Taste is big sour raspberries, blueberries, sweet vanilla, lactose, bright fruit peel, semi-salty, and horse blanket with a big sour finish. Slick mouthfeel with high carbonation. Really nice fruited sour. Thanks again Dave!!!

Batch E!032 A: Pours a strawberry pink ale. Excellent clarity. Light pink foam cap of a single finger falls to a sheet of the same. No lacing. very pretty beer. S: Initially, there wasn’t much in the nose here. Took a few minutes before the farm, funk, vinegar, blueberries all came through. T: Tart! Wowza! Very nice. Lots of blueberry. Oh yeah, and oak, tart, brett, blah blah. The sour blueberries hooked this up! M: Medium body with medium to high carbonation. Dries the palate. O: Fuck yeah! Delicious beer. I wish I hadn’t traded three of the six I had this year. Serving type: bottle 04-25-2011

Pours a hazy purple blue color with a finger of pinkish grey foam. The nose is rustic blueberry flesh, dusty oak and basement funk. The palate follows with great yogurt like acidity, touch of sweet blueberry puree, some less sweet rustic blueberry flesh with tannic skin notes blending nicely with wet wood, dusty basement funk. Well integrated sour with a soft dry finish !

Bottle shared at Pizza Plant with Dan the owner and others, a couple of years back and the review not loaded. The smell is great, you know its a sour and the yeast adds further delight. Medium mouthfeel with a sourness, its a sipper and comes across like a wine or good fruit wine. A very good sour beer. Complex in the mouth, with the yeast and residual sugar offsetting some of the sourness, not a palate shredder as I feared. However my palate still records it many hours later.Peachy colour with good head.
