4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice strong bright white head of very small and dense bubbles. Excellent carbonation. Wonderful aroma loaded with cirtus and ripe fruit. Oranges, grapefruit, pine and some mint in this pungent aroma. Color is a bright golden orange. Lots more juicy oranges in the flavor with some soft malts, a bit of astringency, some honey sweetness and some light herbal notes late swallow. Light alcohol warming with a somewhat bitter finish and lingering dry grasses and herbs. A pretty good brew with a great aroma!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle from Spirits Brick. Poured a super murky almost muddy, if thatís even possible for a golden body beer, underneath an average sized white foamy head. Aroma is loaded with hops, tons of pine, slight cat piss, orange meat, citrus rind, and an additional aroma I can only explain as vanilla/pepper flower. Palate is medium bodied with average carboantion, a slighltly chalky feel and no trace of the 8.9% ABV. Flavor of pine, flowers, citrus, lemon zest, grains, clementines, grass clipings, oregeno and more. Man this is a solid hoppy beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Hazy light rust orange with a white head. Loads of lemon and citrus from the hops and some yeastiness in the aroma. Sorachi and Citra both really shine with lots of clean, big citrus and lemony hops on a substantial malt backing. Softer, but big body with vibrant carbonation.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAY 5, 2011 Rerate: 5/5/2011. Tried this on Tap at the Green Onion in Utica, and it was just as good, but tasted completely different. The pour had a nice looking white head and no yeast floating around. The aroma was pretty similar (oranges, citrus, hops, lemon), but a lot more subdued. The flavor, on the other hand, was sweet fruity mango, other nectar and citrus fruits, and had a nice tartness to it. Interesting that it tasted like such a different beer!
(Bottle: Cloudy orange, lots of floating yeast. Aroma is lemon, yeast, orange, spices. Wow. Flavor is hoppy, spicy and citrusy with lemony sweetness, but not as good as the aroma. (9-3-7-3-17))

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Lightly hazy, orange amber color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of orange, floral hops, citrus, pine, and tea. Taste of citrus, orange, toast, pine, vanilla, and bitter grapefruit.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
A: The pour is a hazed golden orange color with a white head.
S: Some very floral hops. Fairly herbal too with a lot of citrus (orange) peel. Thereís a bit of grass and wheat, but a strong plastic aroma, unfortunately.
T: A harsh bitterness and plastic flavor that sort of ruins the whole beer. There is some good citrus and citrus peel flavor and the floral hop qualities are nice. Piney hops provide some more bitterness.
M: Medium in body with medium carbonation.
O: There are some decent flavors, but that plastic was just too much to look past.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
YES! Thanks to the Foodery in Philly, Iíve now ticked the last 4 beers in Ithacaís anniversary series. Itís difficult to understate the great sense of personal fulfillment and self-satisfaction I feel regarding this monumental accomplishment. 750ml bottle. Brilliant slightly hazy golden pour with a huge sticky, clingy white head. Great aroma of citrus, tropical fruit, floral and herbal notes, and some sweet malt. The flavor has a honeyish doughy pale malt base, orange, pineapple, mango, lemongrass, and floral/spicy notes. Very tasty. Smooth, soft, airy mouthfeel, which makes this very easy to drink for the ABV. This beer is like a not-very-poor manís version of another great beer I recently had, Charlevoix Dominus Vobiscum Lupulus. The nameís much easier to say though.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 5, 2011 750 ml bottle opened for the NCAA National Championship from TheEpeeist. Thanks, Chris! Pours a glowing orange golden pour, a good glow, well hazed, and a frothy moderate offwhite moving towards beige head, sticks around as a good cake, nice lacing. Some sediment comes with it. Aromas are a nice blast of fairly fresh hops, citrusy lemons and oranges mix with grapefruit, florals and dry cut lemongrass. Light bubblefum, flaked wheat, more lemons and dry citrus zest. A good blast of citrus with the citrus forward hops AND peel additions. A light yeasty life, but fairly mellow, wheat and bready doughy malts beneath. Quite a bitter citrusy bite on the nose. Initial is medium bodied, a firm up front, as into the middle a strong bitterness, dry grass and a lot of lemon, it seems the Sorachi Ace takes the dominant appeal, dry lemons, florals, bread dough, grass and more florals. A dry beer, into the finish some more citrus shows up, flowers, bread dough, flaked wheat. Really a lasting citrus forward hop feel with florals and grass.Fairly clean for being bigger, big bitter and citrus, ABV well hidden though. A good display of these hops for a bigger beer like this. Sweetness stays beneath it, very dry on the palate, bitter. Itís not complex, the hopping gives it itís life. I like this, itís dry and bitter and lasts on the finish and aftertaste. Lighter overall, quite bitter even getting towards astringency a bit perhaps.
