COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our anniversary ale, THIRTEEN is carefully brewed with raw and malted wheat and flaked oats, assertively hopped with Citra and Sorachi Ace, spiked with an addition of orange and lemon peel and vigorously fermented with an American Ale yeast. Enjoy the incandescent appearance, immense citrus aromas and flavors, soft and fluffy mouthfeel and bitter zing.

bottle poured a rich golden color with a covering of white head. aroma jumps out at you, dry citrus rind, orange peel, some resiny bitterness, and a bit of malt. mouth feel is crisp with nice coating and high side carbonation. flavor has a bit more bitterness, citrus, grapefruit, nice and dry, with a lingering finish. this is quite smooth and there is little alcohol to be found. wow this is quite yummy.

750 ml from Decicco Ardsley. Hazy orange with head and lace. Very citrus hop sweet lemon pastry aroma. Tangy fruity orange sweetness with fairly dry fruity medium bitter mouthcoating finish. Nice balanced palate, assertive but without a bite. Very good. I’m still not a big DIPA fan.

Event at Pizza Plant with rep and owner Dan. Orangey appearance with white as snow head. Aroma of citrus, orange blossoms. Creamy mouthfeel. Wild yeast in there making it tasty and satisfying, with hoppyness couched in wheat.

On tap at Ithaca Ale House, 1/13/11. Cloudy orange in appearance, looks like carrot juice. Aroma is citrus fruits, mainly oranges and lemons, perhaps pineapple. Taste offers medium sweetness and slight citrusy sour notes. Palate is surprisingly thick and creamy with a lasting bitter finish. The 8.9% ABV is well hidden; I suppose the bombardment of citrus didn’t hurt in that regard. I didn’t really know what to expect from this one based on the description, but I liked it to the point where when it came time for Beer #2, I couldn’t pass up the chance to have another.

Pours hazy deep gold into a tulip. Conglomerate off-white head pancakes and recedes leaving spider lacing. Heavy citrus - lemon, orange and grapefruit aromas. Crisp with upfront oat bread turning quickly to bitter orange before the lasting grapefruit pith finish. ABV is well hidden.

On tap at the tasting room at Ithaca. Pours a hazed gold with a medium to large creamy white head. Awesome lemon and pineapple notes, huge citrus notes. Citra and Sorachi Ace together? Yummy. Nice wheat notes, earthy and gritty. Malt, toast, lemon, big grapefruit. Quite nice.
