COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our anniversary ale, THIRTEEN is carefully brewed with raw and malted wheat and flaked oats, assertively hopped with Citra and Sorachi Ace, spiked with an addition of orange and lemon peel and vigorously fermented with an American Ale yeast. Enjoy the incandescent appearance, immense citrus aromas and flavors, soft and fluffy mouthfeel and bitter zing.

Bottle: Poured a orange copper with white head. Aroma is citrus and hops. Taste was steep in citrus fruit, hops, and had a grainy wheat and oat edge to it.

Bottle. Poured clear copper color with a large frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex citrus hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture with soft carbonation. Medium to heavy citrus bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish and small alcohol burn of moderate to long duration. This is a solid complex brew.

Bottle at home. Pours hazy/murky straw yellow, thick white head, spotty lacing. Nose is delicate citrus hops, Adam says it smells like Pliny to him. Disagree. Earthy, spicy, and surprisingly aromatic hops, very fresh and bright. Flavours of sherbet lemons, spice, pepper, honey, very pretty and grassy. A winner! Either that, or the first beer Iíve had in 3 weeks tastes really good. One of those things...

Draft @ coles..fuzzy peach & citrus hop nose..flavors are very hop forward akin to super hoppy west coast iipas, lots of peach, necatarine, and similar flavors in here...pretty dry too though the nose let on that it would be a bit sweeter than it actually is..pretty damn bitter too, but not the astringent lingering kind, which is a nice change. Lots of flavor here...very clean, and surprising for east coast.

Had this at the tasting room at Ithaca Beer Company and had two samples as I loved the zesty wheat malty tone which melds better with the hops than I expected as the hops add a nice bitter tone (citra for aroma and sorachi ace for bittering?). Sadly they were out of bottles but growler fills were available. The only thing is iím not sure iím a huge fan of the hops here but they seem to match up really well to create this unique style.

750 ml bottle into snifter, batch E!033. Pours extremely cloudy orange amber color with a fairly dense 2 fingers of off white head with great retention that reduces to a fairly thick lacing cap that lasts. Some fairly thick lacing sticks to the glass as well. Aromas of big orange peel, grapefruit, lemon, spices, and a bit of wheat. Damn nice aromas! Super hoppy stuff. Taste of big orange peel, lemon, pine, spices, caramel, and a bit of wheat. Nice amount of bitterness present on the finish, with lingering notes of pine, orange, lemon, and caramel sweetness. Fantastic balance of bitterness and sweetness here, nothing is overwhelming. Medium carbonation and a fairly full body with a nice creamy mouthfeel. Surprisingly, absolutely no alcohol noticed at all for being 9%. Super drinkable as well for the alcohol level. Even though this doesnít really match up with what I would expect from a wheat ale; this is fantastic with tons of hoppiness and great balance of flavor.
