COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our anniversary ale, THIRTEEN is carefully brewed with raw and malted wheat and flaked oats, assertively hopped with Citra and Sorachi Ace, spiked with an addition of orange and lemon peel and vigorously fermented with an American Ale yeast. Enjoy the incandescent appearance, immense citrus aromas and flavors, soft and fluffy mouthfeel and bitter zing.

bottle shared by murphym45 - clear copper pour. Aroma is huge; hop resins, oregano, pine needles, grapefruit, basil herbs. Sweet malts, fluffy foamy mouthfeel. Lots of hop bitterness, but not overwhelming. Some light astringency on the tongue. really tasty, smooth mouthfeel, pleasant finish.

Location: At the Foodery in Philly, 4/9/11

Aroma: The nose is fairly citrusy and herbal, with some floral and tropical notes
Appearance: It has a hazy golden pour with a large white head atop it
Flavor: The taste is like the nose with more of a yeast/dough characteristic to it
Palate: This one is fairly smooth with a medium body, an easy drinkability, and an average carbonation
Overall Impression: This was a really solid offering. One that I really enjoyed and I am glad that I got to try. Good stuff for sure.

Bottle. Light lemon pour, small ring of carbonation and an aroma of bright lemony hops, white pepper. Flavor is tangy bitter lemon, herbs and finished dry with more lingering bitters. Very unique and enjoyable.

Lemon grass, spice and lots of hops in the aroma - very bitter as well. It’s been years since I had an Ithaca beer and have forgotten how solid they are. the body is very bitter.

Ithaca Thirteen is a cloudy golden ale with lots of clumps and chunks swirling around in it. It’s topped with a thick elastic white foam that has outstanding retention and lacing. I could smell lemon as soon as I popped the bottle open. It has a huge, fresh, hoppy, citrus aroma: Fresh hops and lemon zest! It’s pretty full bodied and super smooth. It disappears from the mouth almost instantly. The finish is dry and clean. This is very hoppy but the bitterness isn’t overbearing at all. The malt just supports the hops here. There’s a little black pepper-- lemon pepper! This tastes great. It’s just like super fresh hops still on the vine. This isn’t very complex but it tastes really darn good. The bottle may be big, but it won’t last long in my hands.

Hazy golden color with a white head. Aroma of citrus, toasted malt, grain, and floral hops. Serious hop bite at the back end with a citrus and wheat undertones upfront. Very well balanced,

Bottle thanks to murphym45. Light hazy golden pour with a pillowy white head that faded to a nice collar. Some lace. Aroma was full of nice citrus, plenty from the Citra and Sorachi Ace, then some bitter fruit peel citrus. Nice. Flavors were also big and citrusy, nice wheat undertones throughout, leaving some earthy notes and a rich smoothness. Finished with a pleasant bitterness, mouthfeel was slick, carbonation medium to light. A very good hoppy wheat...

Bottle, 750 mL. Pours a nice deep gold, and tastes pretty much like you’d expect. A little bit of honey, a little bit of citrus...really just a good hoppy wheat with a little bit of sweetness. Tons of little islands in the pour.

750ml from Capone’s, Norristown. Nose and creamy body of a citrusy, floral DIPA: deep pale gold, lightly cloudy but as if it had a bright light behind it. Big sticky fluffy head, with tons of retention. Nose is quite grassy, citrus rind, and so forth but with a sharp raw yeast and flaky barley quality that makes for an appealing contrast with the fruits. Things get even more interesting with the taste, which has all the virtues of a DIPA but with a spicy weizen character (and again, some very sharp grains and barley) plus some quality that makes it seem barrel-aged, a bourbony note right through the middle. Very distinctive and well done.
