3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is excellent. Reminds me of Chouffe Houbleron. A hoppy, citrusy floral pile of aromas. All kinds of stuff going on here, so much it numbs my drunken tongue. Cloudy blond with pretty good lacing. Really tastes like some kind of Belgia/ipa hybrid, and pulls it off well. Awesome. Always a good idea to come to the Blue Monk. On tap.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Candy sugar, spice, citrus, and a little sour funk in the aroma. Flavor is not what I expected from a Belgian style ale--sweet and herbal. Spice and some fruity bitterness in a very dry finish.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 mL bottle. Pours gold and bubbly with lots of floating bits. The head is large, white and frothy. The aroma is lime, coriander, wheat, pine, and a light, but distinct, brett funk. The flavor is citrus sweetness, a little bitterness, and a nice, light funk. The palate is medium, very sticky, and astringent. The mouthfeel is a little too overbearing, but overall, this is a brilliant, flavorful, and well balanced beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
An interesting Belgian style, yeasty American wheat beer. This has a light feel but is quite complicated. Dry spices, oranges, good fresh hop flowers, and a sweet bite from the wheat malts.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Still sitting on the dock of the bay. Bottle shared with Paul.
The beer appears hazy and yellow with a substantial white head. The aroma brings citrus, hay, yeast. Nice flavor and well balanced. A hint of brett funk, but only a subtle glimpse of wild yeast. Plenty of citrus flavor. Wheat malt makes for a smooth feel. Hops are present throughout, with lasting presence in the finish. An enjoyable beer, I would have this again.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Odd stuff here. Spicy hops and wet paper were dominant with some weird sweetness that was a bit chemically. I didnt like it much at all.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle shared at HF. Old bottle of some batch 1 vintage of this, label seriously raped by time. Anyhow, this beer was cardboarded beyond repair, intense aroma and flavor of oxidization/cardboard, musty hops and moldy grain. I’m rating this mostly because I was told there was supposed to be brett in this beer which is nowhere to be found - had there been, it might still have been fine.
