This is a nice, bright and tasty IPA and probably the best I’ve had from Ithaca. It’s cloudy orange in color and unfortunately pretty much w/o a head. Some lavender hits in the nose first but that quickly wanes to a deeper, citrus and stone fruit aroma. It is full bodied but not sweet and brisk carbonation keeps it lively across the tongue. The citrus notes give it a juicy quality and crisp bitterness in the finish keeps it from cloying. This is a fairly strong IPA but still drinks nice and easily w/ plenty of hop flavor from start to finish. I’d definitely buy this pretty regularly if it was local to me.

Citrus pine aroma. Heavy citrus hops in the flavor. Light malt backbone. A little thin in mouth feel.

Pours golden with a white head. Huge hops aromas of citrus, pine, floral and resin. Tastes bitter up-front and follows crisp and dry with only mild malt support. Mild fruitiness/citrus flavors. This is a nice hop-forward and thirst-quenching IPA in which bitterness is the predominant flavor and that somewhat fatigues the palate.

DATE TASTED: December 26, 2014... GLASSWARE: Brew at the Zoo pint... OCCASION: unwinding after the Christmas visitors have left... APPEARANCE: hazy, opaque, almost blood-orange body; white coral sits atop an uneven head; uneven lacing... AROMA: brilliant, BIG mango and pomegranate mix with a floral bouquet to arrest the senses... PALATE: buzzing, vibrantly electric mouthfeel; warm, full finish; big, but drinkable; intense, teeth-clenching aftertaste...TASTE: a potpourri of citric cadences--orange, lemon, grapefruit, mango and sharp sugars--a hop bomb... OVERALL: a mesmerizing enticement of hops, much as the mix pack proclaims; more overpowering than the Cascazilla and the banner carrier in a hop offensive...

Tasted from bottle. Pours a hazy gold with white head. Great fruity citrus aroma of lemon and grapefruit. Great clean bitterness of moderate intensity. Citrus and pine flavors. Good malt backbone to balance the bitterness. Definitely a solid IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fresh from the tap in the Blind Tiger (NYC). golden hazy color with an off-white head. nose: very fruity and complex, in depth, fresh american hops, mouth full of fruit. taste: oh so damn good hoppy. MF: great bitter, dry, long lasting. what a great IPA, in the details nothing new, but why do you need that when you have this kind of brew. for this kind of IPA I came to NYC. thanks!

A very hoppy taste with good body. After taste is a bit raw of grain. Possibly the finish is composed of hop flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: Pale gradient from straw to golden-amber; murky, translucent, & topped with a quarter-inch of frothy white foam. Aroma loaded with citrus, pineapple, apricot, a hint of mango, all lathered with hop resin, pine, & mild alpha oils. Flavor starts off with more of a spicy, earthy hop vibe. White pepper & a heavier resinous profile. Oily, leafy, & plentiful on the bitterness up front. Lighter apricot & pineapple rind. A touch of sweetbread introduced from the malt with a back-end of fruity pith & ashy leaf bitterness. Dry bread malts & a touch of earthy white pepper to end things. A really tasty IPA.
