Reviewed 12/31/2012. Thanks to scottk1969 for the bottle! 12 oz bottle poured into a Duvel artist tulip. Notes from last night’s Skins/Cowboys game. A: Pours a hazy golden color with a bit of yeast sediment floating about. The head is a beautiful two finger creamy white head with fantastic, almost Guinness-like texturing. Good lacing is left on the glass. S: The hype train wasn’t kidding about this having an amazing aroma. There are tons of tropical fruits - mango, cantaloupe, apricot, papaya - that explode aromatically. I will say, this isn’t quite as vibrant as it could have been if it had been super fresh or from a growler, so sadly I can’t give it a 5 in good conscience. T: The tropical fruits from the nose come through to the flavor - at first. Initial tastes of melon, grapefruit, and cantaloupe are quickly supplanted by a floral, piny bitterness. I’d like to see a little more citrusy notes and less piny bitterness, but this is still a great (but simple) IPA. M: Tingly coarse at first, before leaving the palate quickly by a good clean dryness. Pleasant carbonation and drinkability. O: I’d buy the shit out of this if it were readily available in my area. Honestly, however, I don’t know if I’d seek it out, only because this supposedly falls off fast and hard. Still, this is very much a must try.

Fruchtig blumiger Antrunk, vollmundig, wenig herb. Gleichzeitig spritzig, was aber mit Zunahme des Hopfens deutlich abnimmt. Stark hopfig bleibend, süßlich, dann deutlich herb, im Nachgeschmack auch bitter, was aber vom Hopfen verdeckt wird. 11/12/12/12//12

This has been on my want list for quite a while and it didn’t disappoint. Straw color with small white head. Really floral aroma, flavor is clean and crisp, cleansing bitter finish. Really top class IPA that drinks more like an APA.

On tap at Deep Ellum, Boston. Pours hazy orange with small white head. Piney and fruity aroma. Malty caramel base, tropical fruit, citrus, and lasting hoppy finish. Good one.

Clear golden-copper body with adequate head that subsides relatively quickly. Herbal and, obviously, floral aroma for the namesake. Fresh and earthy with subtle hop flavors. Not the super pungent hop taste that is widespread in most American IPA’s. Sturdy malt backbone with toasted cereal. Smooth and drinkable.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a hazy medium gold with a one finger white head. Pretty poor head retention but decent lacing. Wonderful piney aroma with some lighter hints of tropical fruit. This one leans heavy on the resin, earth and pine, though. Juicy flavor with more piney resiny notes. Fruity notes are underneath along with a strong bready malt backbone. Bitterness is high and provides a wonderful counterpoint to the malt. Slick mouthfeel finishing moderately sticky. Overall, a very solid IPA but not really Earth-shattering. Definitely drinkable and a good everyday choice.

Scents of floral citrusy pine, cloudy with minimal head, and sweet light grapefruit notes that splash my tongue with hoppy pleasure. This isn’t a hop explosion by no means but a sweet lightly sour fruity IPA that I could have over and over again.

Pint at Proof at Newark airport. Medium golden colour. Not much head. About like you’d expect.
