Reviewed from notes. Pours a nice golden-yellow color with a white head and a bit of light lacing as it goes down. The nose brings forward a good deal of strawberries and their accompanying seeds. Some nice lactic and acetic character in the background, with the latter being fairly mild. Good funk there as well. The flavor melds the nice sour components with the strawberries really dominating. I always describe this as strawberry seeds, as this flavor is quite reminiscent of biting into one of the green sides, which is often the case in a not-totally-blended strawberry smoothie. Quite enjoyable. Good body with nice carbonation and a good sourness throughout. Highly enjoyable. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 03-14-2011

NOTF ’10 Hazy golden pour with a tight white head. aroma is light, frisky Strawberry, loads of Acetic acid, some light yeastiness. This one was one of the stars of the show for me. A bright, sweet, fruity strawberry presence in both the Aroma and the flavor, which is nicely complimented by the acidity, which makes for a puckering, but Lovely experience. One of the Best Breweries at the Fest.

Pouring at Night of the Funk on the Friday night of Belgian Beer Fest in Boston. Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head. Big funk, berries on the nose. Loads of balsamic vinegar here. A bit harsh, and a touch messy with all of that acetic acid. Lots of sourness though, and the berries here are rather nice. It’s no Brute or LeBleu, but there is some potential.

NotF. Hazy golden pour with a small white head. The aroma captures strawberry essence amazingly, despite the clear appearance of the body. Well balanced acidity and funk lead to a sour, tangy, and thoroughly juicy finish. The palate is medium bodied with supple fine bubbled carbonation. The finish is bone dry and smacking. Another amazing offering from Ithaca- definitely on par with Brute and Le Bleu.
