aracauna (2221), Georgia, USA Apr 22, 2008 Pours a clear, but very dark ruby brown, black from a distance. Heavily carbonated, but the head fades completely and quickly. The flavor is a little like cola with a sweet caramelly maltiness. There’s a definite coffee flavor and aroma, especially early on, but it tastes a little on the stale side.
SoLan (1166), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 6, 2008 Courtesy ChzMan. Dark beown/black. Tan head. A ton of roasty malt and fresh coffee, lightly bready. Full body, just smoother than balanced. Solid. WeeHeavySD (1564), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jun 15, 2008 750 via trade a while back. Shared with my girlfriend Cyn. Poured into my Celebrator Glass, pours dark brown with a 1 finger tan head. Nose is pretty cool, very malty and lots of coffee. Taste is really nice with tons of coffee and some deep dark malts. This is a damn nice espresso doppelbock. Great beer. stefanje (483), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Jun 8, 2008 750 ml bottle from Matthew. Pours a very dark brown color with amber highlights and a medium khaki head. The aroma is big with dark chocolate, coffee and a bit of smoked malts. The flavor is straightforward with mocha, a touch of cola and abundant dark biter chocolate. The mouthfeel is smooth and malty. The finish is medium in duration with more linger coffee. Overall: This beer really appealed to me. I love it. Thanks Matthew. radiomgb (1711), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jun 7, 2008 Dark brown in colour, thin brown coloured head, light lacing. The aroma was roasty, some toasted coffee beans, mild sweetness, light chocolate. The aroma was roasty, some sweetness, lots of malts, some light fruits, noticable coffee. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes lingering, excellent coffee bitterness.
This was pretty good, a nice twist on a doppelbock.

Rogueone (311), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA Jun 4, 2008 Bottle shared by ogglethorp: Dark brown pour, about a finger’s worth of white fluffy head. Aroma is a bit of wet cardboard, lactose, and traces of coffee. Flavor is all the richness of an iced espresso straight from the machine, crema and all with a roasted and lingering bitterness. Finish is a little warm. Just tastes like it was lacking something.
