The rich mahogany hue of the Nut Brown is the first thing you will notice about this complex, malty brew. A delicate blend of chocolate malt, caramel malt, and four other malts brings to this beer a chocolatey sweetness, and hints of coffee. The malt character is subtly balanced with Northdown and Fuggles hops.

12 fluid oz bottle. Pours a hazy reddish brown with a tan head that quickly diminished. Aromas of cocoa, biscuity malt, light citrus, light dried fruits, and molasses. The taste starts with a light smokey note, cocoa, coffee grounds, a faint spearmint note, and a bitter finish. Reminds me of a lighter Mill Street Coffee Porter. Nothing groundbreaking here, but a totally rock solid dark ale. Recommended!

Hazy brown amber color, thin rim head, no lace. Taste is sweet caramel malt that adds light chocolate bittering at the finish. Doesn’t stand out from the crowd. Easy drinking, but a little heavy on the back end.

Bottle. Coffee, nut, and chocolate aroma. Chestnut brown with minimal head. Sweet chocolate and molasses malt flavor. Pecan and lightly bitter herbal finish. Very good.

Pours brown with red lights, thick tan head. Aroma is roasted nut, coffee, dark chocolate. Flavour is strongly nutty, coffee, creamy malt. Nice roastiness, strong scents and tastes. Very pleasant bittering finish. Nice one.

Perfect american brown. Thanks to Tom for this. Pours a dark brown with a small brown top. Aroma is hazelnutand a small hop bitterness. Taste is big nut with a small roasty and dry hop bitterness.

Heavy aroma of cocoa beans and coffee. Reddish cola appearance. It’s nutty and sweet, but surprisingly bitter and astringent as well. Thin, with the consistency of warmed syrup. Typically American brown ale.

On tap in The Ginger Man, July 2012. Dark brown with a small head. Sweet aroma and with nuts, toffee, some light roasted malt. Nicely drinkable, descent stuff.
