COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The rich mahogany hue of the Nut Brown is the first thing you will notice about this complex, malty brew. A delicate blend of chocolate malt, caramel malt, and four other malts brings to this beer a chocolatey sweetness, and hints of coffee. The malt character is subtly balanced with Northdown and Fuggles hops.

Pours deep brown into a shaker. Off-white head quickly recedes to hug rim. Roasted nut and toast aromas. Dry with upfront chocolate turning nutty in the dry medium length sweet mocha finish.

12 oz. bottle. Tall head fell quickly. Dark reddish brown. Odd sour coffee / chocolate taste. Not bad enough to drain pour, but not something I want another bottle of.

Poured a 12oz bottle into the Newcastle "Geordie Schnooner" glass.

APPEARANCE: Looks like muddy water with dark brown color and hints of ruby red. Forms a big, soapy head but it fizzles away like a soda. Leaves no lacing.

AROMA: smells more like a porter with notes of toasted malt, nuts and a hint of coffee. Not very strong, but nice.

TASTE: Starts off pretty good with a nutty taste with a potpurri of mom’s spice rack seasoning. Finishes with a bit of caramel and artificial sweetener-like sweetness. Reminds me of flat Pepsi. As it warms it becomes milder and less complex. Tasty, but not amazing.

MOUTHFEEL: Never had a brown ale that was this fizzy before. Initially drinks like fresh soda, then becomes completely tepid, thin, and watery.

DRINKABILITY: Good but not great, especially considering how thin and mild it is. Sweetness gets obnoxious if you drink too much too fast. 5.4% ABV seems high, it drink like something much lower.

OVERALL: Should’ve been a great beer, but it winds up being just a good beer. It’s sessionable and enjoyable.

Beer poured a medium brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of dark fruits and coffee. Promising. Taste predominantly sour. Thin in texture with a tinny aftertaste. OK, but not great.

Pours a dark brown with some tan head. Aromas of roasty malts, nuts, coffee, brown sugar. A little sweet, medium bodied. Lots of flavor, very enjoyable.

Wow I don’t know what to say. Flavor is like a 4 hour old pot of burnt stale Starbucks Coffee, with a little alcohol. Not enjoyable.

12oz Bottle, thanks Kevin! Aroma is a yeasty, sugary, and slightly cinnamon-doughy malt mess. Pours a very hazy mid-brown with amber and orange tints and a little too much cocoa-colored head. Flavors are all over the map. Too much caramel malt, too much dry chocolate malt, and some unhappy yeast flavors. Unbalanced and overly sweet. Poorly malted in my opinion.
