A solid nut brown year after year. The malt balance is just about as good as you can get. Solid brew from a great brewery.

Cask. Pours a light mahogany, more chestnut brown with thin lace top. Aroma nutty malt. The taste has a decent mix of caramel and roasted malts . No chocolate in the fore in my view but a definite growing sweetness with just a hint of bubble gum at the end. Overall a solid brown ale offering.

From 12 oz bottle. This beer started out great. I was very surprised, a deep nutty almost wooden flavor. Silky texture. Decent but run of the mill smell. Then suddenly by the third drink it was watery and flavorless. Almost a great brew. Very nice patently nutty aftertaste I should add somewhat saves it.

12oz bottle. Pours brown with very little tan head. Caramel and nut flavors. Slightly sweet. Bit of a thin palate and not alot of character. Meh.

Well it has "nut" in the name for a reason. Very nutty in taste and aroma.

It has a hazy chestnut colored body with a light tan head on top. The head is thick and creamy, tall but slow fading to a thin covering that hangs on till the finish and makes for some slick lacing. There is a big sweet nose on this one. Sweet caramel and rich bready notes fill the nose and hops add some light spice as well. Up front there is a big sweet caramel and buttery presence with some light mineral and green leafy/herbal hop bitterness moving into the middle. The hop notes struggle to come though but sweet creamy caramel and bready maltiness now with a hint of roasted nuttiness dominates and leads into the finish. I am also getting some dark fruity notes like raison or overripe plum as well. On the palate it has a smooth silky texture with light carbonation and a sturdy medium body.

Sweet nutty aroma. Quick fading head. No lacing to speak of. Sweet malt upfront no hop finish. Thin but lively on the tongue. An ok beer.

Bottle from half time. Pours darks brown with a half inch of khaki foam. Not a lot on the nose. leaves some lacing on the glass. Has some solid nuttiness on the tongue. Finishes clean. Not bad.

Clear nut brown color with brown head. Aroma licorice, roasted malts, roasted nuts, rich chocolate with some coffee. There is some burnt wood also. Sweet with a hint of sourness, gentle bitter ending. Roasted malts, chocolate and coffee, with some ashy taste, like a mixture og raw roasted coffee beans. Bitter aftertaste mixed with roasted coffe and cocoa beans. Very enjoyable.
