Availability: May – Aug. Partly Sunny is an Ithaca-style interpretation of the classic Belgian Wit bier.
It is a hazy-straw colored wheat beer brewed with coriander, and generous amounts of lemon zest. It is light and refreshing beer with a subtle spicy start and a smooth citrus finish.

Wasn’t expecting much on this beer. But, man, oh man was a I blown away! This is easily in my top favorite 10 beers. First, the aroma hits you smack dab in the nose with the 70s - lots of fresh hops - maybe simcoe? The taste is smooth and ends with a slight ashy 70s taste. Not much bitterness. Very drink able. Maybe this is a special batch... I have only had one. But, it ranks up there with my favorite beer that has a similar taste: Abbey des Rocs Grand Cru.

From bottle. Light wheat aroma wth a bit of citrus and spice. Mild hop character and slight oxidation to it. Deep golden clear with quickly dissipating foamy white head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts a bit dry with light wheat and some mild carbonic acidity. Some citrus and spice notes with light tangy finish. Some mild astringency but fairly clean finish & after. A little muted hop bitterness.

Pours golden blonde with no head or lacing. Slight farmy taste with a little hay but not too much of this. Finishes crisp with some tang. On tap at brewpub.

On tap at World Beer Fest in Cleveland, very light white ale, nothing too crazy here, easy to drink, sweet.

12 fluid oz bottle. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a two finger off-white head. Aromas of banana, citrus, yeast, faint black pepper, and an off-putting light chemical smell. The taste is light hefe notes that are just destroyed by a distracting bitter metallic hop that steamrolls everything all the way to the spicy finish. The hops really are distracting, and unfortunately provide a kind of toothpaste/orange juice taste. This beer is a full on "what the hell?"

Draft from Delaney’s in New Haven. Solid Witbier that isn’t too bready or wheat heavy. Nice orange, lemon and melon notes and the right amount of coriander. Solid.

I’m pretty sure the bottle I purchased, a dusty reject in a discount basket, was from last summer and not that fresh at all. With that said, the beer wasn’t too bad. Nutty bock-like scent with malt. Hazy gold pour with a small head. Medium bodied, frothy feel. Pils fronted flavor, grain, with a moist wheat finish.

This was a fun beer. Definitely would have been a bit more enjoyable in the summer, but I don’t mind drinking beers "out of season". For a wit, it was very crisp, nice slight hoppiness, with a lemony tang and aroma.
