Tap at Waterfront Ale House: Deep orange pour, slightly hazy with a consistent off white head. Great bright aroma. Quite herbaceaous with a lemongrass like suggestion. Velvety body. Citrusy hempy flavor. Quite bright and lemon grass like. Dry throughout with a mild herbal bitter back. A very nice IPA.

Growler shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- c/o HogTownHarry. Pours a slightly hazy deep gold with an average size frothy lasting white head. Aroma: Whoa, that’s incredibly hoppy! Resiny with hemp, lots of cat piss (in a good way) and some fruit in the back. Flavour: Man oh man there’s lots of cat piss again, so resiny, along with some fruit and malt way in the background. Long big bitter finish. You really have to be a HopHead to appreciate this, I am and I love it!

Nose is full of juicy fruit, pineapple, notes of citrus, danky hops, a touch of grass, bretty funky notes, light grain. Really a wonderful aroma. Pours golden with a nice lasting head and lace. The flavor is also full of fruity notes, lots of pineapple, some brett, light grain, musty notes, some citrus and oily dank hops. Definitely a very interesting beer with high drinkability. A nice dry finish with oily hops and dry funky bretty. Solid.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Lubiere (8243) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 30, 2010
A hazed golden amber ale with a thick light moka head, lacing. In aroma, intense blend of hops, from herbal to muskey, with light Brett Orval notes. In mouth, an oily muskey super IPA with organic and animal oils, floral hops, meaty and wild. Quite interesting if a bit light. On tap at Clarks Ale House, August 27 2010.

Pale, slightly hazy gold/yellow color. Very strong hoppy aroma with lots of grapefruit, reminiscent of Ithaca’s Flower Power IPA, some floral and bready notes. Very crisp and smooth with a little bit of bitterness and a long finish. An excellent IPA.

sample from the pitcher @ GABF on 9/18/10. deep golden pour with a small white head. subtle Brett nose with some citrus hops. lighter body than most IPAs. feels a bit flat. average bitter finish. interesting to see a Brett beer than isn’t all that funky.

tap at captain lawrence in a sample. pour had a nice golden color and a foamy white head. aroma has citrus rind, pineapple, bretty funk, and an overall tropical fruit. flavor follows with a tropical blast, citrus, grapefruit, orange, nice brett, and a lingering dry finish. wow this is really delicious and the brett side takes a nice secondary role following behind the hops. wish I could have gotten a growler of this!!

September 17, 2010 - growler from Consumer’s Beverages, shared with blankboy and garthicus. Holy crap, what a beer - the growler languished in my fridge for 7 days (no choice) but was still in top form. Hazy yellow-amber, decent white head. Aroma - oh man, cat pee !!! but in the best way possible - funky acidic, pungent, somewhat strong alcohol - I assumed this was Simcoe, but Citra, well I may have a new fave hop varietal! Not a lot of brett to my nose or tongue, but it was definitely funky and dry, not herbal, but ... look, all I could think of was it reminded me of a blend of fresh Weyerbacher Double Simcoe and Ithaca Flower Power - flora/resin/"pissy" IPA bitterness and some dry funk ALA fresh Orval. Solid, acidic body, decent carbonation for a growler, and a long, long pungent bitter finish - a real grabber, and yum yum yum nom nom nom - want it AGAIN!

Sampled @ GABF! 14 karat brew with a peach hue and small white head. Aroma shows orange pith, grapefruit, caramel, and resin. Flavor is that of a solid IPA with the before mentioned aromas making their way to taste buds. Really didn’t find the brett influence here...extremely mild and subtle. Still, a good beer.

Sampled at GABF on 9/17/2010. This IPA pours a slightly hazy yellow gold color. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is grapefruity, citrusy, fruity and bretty. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy, lemony and a touch floral. Lively carbonation. A touch bretty, finishes dry, male that very dry. Very nice IPA. Not sure how much of the interesting flavor combinations are from the brett or from the citra hops. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean, crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
