draft at coles, buffalo NY- Deliciously hoppy- huge, green, fresh hop aroma- fresh, pellet hop aroma, somewhat grassy, piney, and citric- citrus, grapefruit flavors dominate with a touch of belgian funk in the background- it will be interesting to see how the brett changes the beer over time, but doubtful it will last long enough in kegs to find out- even non-beer people i was with loved this beer.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2011 So surprised when Thorpe429 pulled this growler out at a recent tasting. Incredibly thankful. The color on this is nice and bright yellow with a bit of orange. You know, that "drink me now" color. The nose was nice and consistent with the style. Lots of good nice fruit from the Citra. Its amazing how well the hop and funk go together. The Brett C doesnít overpower the hop but rather compliments it nicely and lingers in the background and then finishes nice and dry almost like a Belgian pale. Cant wait to have this again. UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 On tap at Swift Half for their Ithaca event A: Orangish body with a moderate sized white head. Slightly hazy. Quickly receded but left behind a decent coating of lace. S: Blast of tropical fruits. Mango, pineapple, grapefruit. No malt presence. Brett creeps in slightly. T: Like the nose there is quite a bit of tropical fruit hoppiness. Minimal bitterness. Brett pushes forward a bit more, but does not become distracting. Not as lively a hop profile as the nose. M: Medium carbonation with a moderate weight. Dry, somewhat refreshing. Would prefer a bit more crisp and bitter finish. The brett definitely draws the flavor out a bit longer than ideal for me. O: I managed to plow through this one while watching the flyers game. Effortless and tasty.

Tap, BCTC. Pours a cloudy gold body with a frothy off-white head. Big bright floral hops with a minimal malt interference. The brett is under all those bright hops, but itís pretty subtle. Dank bright hops that taste super fresh are center stage with the malt staying nicely in the background. I kinda like having this at itís debut with all these hops in full bloom, but canít help wonder what this might become after they fade a bit and let the brett come to the fore. Light to medium bodied, not sticky or cloying at all, fizzy lively carbonation. Very nice beer, probably the best new beer to me at the fest.

Shared by Alex and Sean. Growler into a Lost Abbey glass. The beer is an ugly medium bread crust brown and the bottom of the growler has at least an inch of sludge...The aroma is musky right away, I didnít know it was brett ipa. Its fairly light though, bread, light pineapples, a little funk...The taste is also on the lighter side not overpowering sour which makes it easy to drink, but on the other hand I donít really get any hops which I was expecting. A little sweet and funky beer.

Sample at EBF 2011.
Appearance : Hazy pale amber.
Aroma : Really nice brett with hops. Nice citrusy and herbal notes.
Taste : Great brett with barnyard and fruity notes. Nice herbal and floral hops. Nice fizzy carbonation. Finish is a bit spicy with some white sugar and really nice hops.
Overall : Wow this was very good. Great balance between brett and hops. Nice barnyard nose. Nice fresh floral hops. Great beer. I think age has definitely improved this one as can be seen from light recent bump in the ratings. I also think this should be classified as a Wild Ale and not an IPA.

Citrusy, tropical fruity, slightly funky. Sticky. Dank as a motherfucker. Simply a fantastic double IPA, one I might give a 5 on the right day.

Sampled from the tap at EBF. Poured a hazy pale gold with a white head that dissipated fully to the edges. Aroma had a really nice combination of citrus and tropical fruits with a hint of funkiness. Flavor started with grapefruit that mellowed to citrus and tropical fruits with a bit of brett coming out in the finish. Really nice beer.

Huge thanks to Gfunk720 for getting a growler of this out my way. Pours a really nice bright orange color with a little bit of pink shading. Nice, long-lasting white head and a pretty good amount of lacing. The nose is just incredible, with loads of Citra coming through and bringing along tropical fruits and a bit of grapefruit rind. A mild funk lingers in the background, but the hops are much more prevalent. The taste tons it down a bit, but the hop flavor is very, very nice. The bitterness and mild funk interact quite well. Nice, dry finish with good carbonation carrying the flavors. Really interesting and unique. I enjoyed this one immensely and really hope this gets brewed again on a larger scale. Enjoyed courtesy of Patrick at RNH. Deep amber pour with a tight white head. The nose has a lovely bright spicy brett aroma. Loads of bright lemon peel citra hoppiness. Intensely dry and flinty with the hops contributing to some of this character. Citrusy hops and pineapple from the brett. Lovely and earthy. As it wams up a very light malt character comes up - loads of soft earthiness on the palate. I really canít say enough good things about this one. As it warms up there is a really flinty/spicy character. Very aromatic and delicious.

Catch up time. On tap at the Pony. Orange with fluffy head and lace. Citrus mild funky lemon pastry. Mild peach toasted toffe with dry fruity citrus and mild funky finish. Soft palate. Excellent.
