Draught at Beer Belly. Real Ale version. Notes from tasting session. Mild, subtle stuff. Restrained– British style? Some lingering hop in finish… but this dies in the glass. A bit lacking in flavor, though it is balanced

Cloudy, orange/light brown colour. Aroma has fruit, grass and hops. Tingly but soft in the palate. Taste is strong with hops, aftertaste has some pine notes as well. Surprisingly good Japanese IPA.

Draught @ Ushi‐Tora, Tokyo. Rated on 16.09.2011
Very refreshing and a bit light aroma with fresh, exotic fruits. Hoppy flavour with bready malt. Sticky finish. An ok IPA, but too malty.

Bottled version bought direct from the website and shipped within Japan. American-Indian Pale Ale that falls well short of a hop monster but is beyond fab for the market it is brewed for. Sweetish and cleanish up front, a bit of citrus peel in the middle with a slice of barleyed steel bringing up the rear.

On tap @ Craft Beer Bar. Upfront smell of caramel; and burnt malty sugar. Looks like fine barley tea w/ a creamy off-white head. Very nutty in flavour with a slight hoppy bite. Nice balance between American/UK style IPA.

If they could get a bit more hops on this thing it would be the perfect brew. Have to settle for really well made. Poured a hazy, unfiltered blonde, with a moderate floral nose. Very balanced and smooth.

Bottle. Medium copper color with a very low, lacy head. Rather rich amber malt aroma, caramel, some hops but not a lot. Rich malt flavor, caramel, chocolate. Good hops bitterness but without a lot of hop aroma. Some though, with some fruit and a bit of citrus. Very rich strong, malt, though, right through to the end. Earthy, bitter, but malty finish. Very complex, though not as fruity and hoppy as I would ask for. Well done, though. Great Malt.
